We're finally able to give you some news about the FCI:P patch - it should be live at the start of next week! Here's the deal:

Updates are a complicated business. The issues that sometimes occur when games are released for online play can be complex to reproduce and solve. Then the testing and approval process needs to begin, and changes may have to be made.

No one wants to release an update that doesn't properly solve the issues players are having - and, with this in mind, the wait for a Far Cry Instincts Predator update has been longer than usual. But the process is now complete, and the update will be released through Xbox Live at the start of next week!

Here is a summary of some of the issues it addresses:

Controls will be more responsive than before (in all game modes)

Faster and smoother thumb stick response (in network games)

Reduced the analog thumb stick dead zone from 35% to 24%

Fixed Rich Presence (Xbox Live status)

Support for more than 64 save games (including user maps) â€" the limit is now as many saves as will fit on your storage device

Fixed voice chat lag with high number of players

Can change game type in game lobby

Fixed occasional issue where no weapon appears in hand

Fixed occasional issue where players are disconnected from lobby and game session

Fixed occasional problems when joining from friends list

Im glad to see the amount of fixes put into this patch. Smoother controls, this will be cool, like gettin a new game. To me anyways.

Great news! Especially being able to change gametypes from the lobby.

Do you know if they're addressing the issue of being able to boot annoying players?

Hi Brimtown, unfortunately I believe this is one issue that wasn't solved (the more things in the patch = the more testing and approval required = the longer the wait). Whether it will be fixed in future is uncertain.

1. Will you be able to search for all gametypes at once in Custom Matches?

2. Regarding dedicated servers - will you be able to invite your friends? Also, are they fixing it so if a friend is running a dedicated server, they're listed as 'joinable'?

As for the patch, Great news, Your mole was right Brim LOL - Cant wait to try it out next week, I can see those that traded this game in getting it back real soon, Hopefully the communith will grow more and now those on Evolutions will make the big step to 360.

I've been tearing it up in Evolution since it came out, but I recently got a 360 and I rented Predator to check it out... I was disappointed that it had even more issues than Evo or Instincts did; but the thought of a patch to enhance the experience makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I hope I can do more than rent it again, but I'm really not in a position to buy it right now. Regardless, I intend to be a shining example of what Genesis Device can do. Check out Adept, it's for Predator and it's a remake of one I did in Evolution (with some slight differences).

Know who or where I can get Adept from?

Are all those maps for Predator?

I would like to get the lot and put them on fcmaps.net for others to be able to download.

Also would like the other maps that Brimtown has made, I will get hold of Air Assault 1 day.

This is all good news, but what about the lag?

I have a 256 upload and can only hold 3 people until it starts to lag.

In COD2 I can hold 8 people easily..Same with halo 2
