I love faux USN VT ops in the IL-2T. It's a rush going in through all that flak with the water spraying way over your head! Developed procedures for getting the IL-2T off and on a static CV, although it takes some practice at first, and rarely do you find the IL-2T available on CVs online (at least when I was able to connect). Even have a little USN campaign started for the IL-2T (landing the IL-2T on a CV doing 30 kts is a cakewalk) but, like everything else, real life has prevented me from finishing it.

I'd love to fly some IL-2T CV ops, but since I bought 1946 I cannot connect online. Most frustrating, 'tis...

Don_X, you Magnificent *******, I read your post!!!

YES! After almost a year and a half of no connectivity, and a million hours spent 'king around with firewall settings, ports and routers, your suggestion to check the HL path was the diamond in the coal pile. My ignorance is largely (ok, mostly) to blame--I had no idea how to set the HL path and, indeed, it was fubar. Ran a search, selected what came up, tried joing a room, and voila!

So, Don_X, my eternal gaming thanks to you!

LOL Boy, did I ever ask! Here and elsewhere. All advice referred to routers, ports, etc. I searched like mad, had IT guys involved, un/reinstalled, upgraded, etc. Nada. It'd been so long without success, however, that months ago I gave up ever finding a solution and, as it turned out, I've become so busy I haven't much time to fly, anyway.

But this solution... Turns out I was looking for my glasses while they were sitting on my nose! Yet another frustrating result of my near-total computer ignorance. Good news is ignorance is combatable with just a little bit of study.

Always check the simple stuff first.

I've flown many missions from the deck of carriers in IL-2Ts, but I always felt it was lacking something. Recently I've been flying with some guys in VBF-12 in TBF campaigns (using the taboo mod). Only thing I can do to get my fix!

What is the "taboo mod"?
