I am very pleased to announce that II.Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 1 "Oesau" (II./JG1) is now recruiting new pilots to add to our roster. We would like to hear from anyone who shares our enthusiasm for teamwork and cooperation.

II./JG1 is a seriously minded North American based squadron with a long and distinguished history.

II./JG1 can trace its origins back to 1992 and Red Baron Online. In fact, II./JG1 is celebrating 15 years on the Internet this coming month!

With our World War 1 contingent, Jagdgeschwader 1 "Richthofen", JG1 holds the distinction of being the first "German" online cyber-squadron to be established on the Internet. We are also the third oldest online cyber-squadron overall. Because of this, II./JG1 pilots pride themselves on a solid foundation of accomplishment and tradition.

Now, some details about the Gruppe:

II./JG1 flies the most recent IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 patch as a Luftwaffe unit. And we will of course be flying both "Knights of the Sky" and "Battle of Britian" and when they are released.

Currently, II./JG1 is comprised of one GruppenStab (Command Flight), one JaboStaffel (Fighter-Bomber Squadron) and two Jagdstaffeln (Fighter Squadrons). As a result, we are looking for simmers that are interested in either mud-moving or air-to-air combat.

Our Gruppe has also had numerous tours of duty in a wide variety of tournaments. IL-2 highlights include: the original Virtual Eastern Front (VEF), Operation Morsky (OM), Iron Skies (IS), the Virtual Eastern Front 2 (VEF2), the Virtual Western Front (VWF), Forgotten Skies (FS), Bellum War (BW), Czech War (CW), and Scorched Earth (SE).

As a recent grad of this training program I can tell you it is first class with dedicated instructors to take you from Flieger to Staffel posting. The squad is well run, flys several online wars, and is most important full of great squad m8's.

If you've been on the fence or thinking about joining a squad, I'd suggest you jump at the chance to be part of this up comming class.
