Gentlemen:

I am pleased to announce that II.Gruppe Jagdgeschwader 1 "Oesau" (II./JG1) is now recruiting new pilots to add to our roster. We would like to hear from anyone who shares our enthusiasm for teamwork and cooperation.

II./JG1 is a seriously minded North American based squadron with a long and distinguished history.

II./JG1 can trace its origins back to 1992 and Red Baron Online. In fact, JG1 is celebrating 15 years on the Internet this year!

With our World War 1 contingent, Jagdgeschwader 1 "Richthofen", JG1 holds the distinction of being the first "German" online cyber-squadron to be established on the Internet. We are also the third oldest online cyber-squadron overall. Because of this, II./JG1 pilots pride themselves on a solid foundation of accomplishment and tradition.

Currently, II./JG1 is comprised of one GruppenStab (Command Flight), one JaboStaffel (Fighter-Bomber Squadron) and two Jagdstaffeln (Fighter Squadrons). As a result, we are looking for simmers that are interested in either mud-moving and air-to-air combat.

II./JG1 has had numerous tours of duty in a wide variety of tournaments - some coop-based and others dogfights. Currently, II./JG1 is flying within Forgotten Skies, and Scorched Earth campaigns.

We also have an outstanding training program and a dynamic promotion and awards system. With over 30 active pilots, our goal is to create an enjoyable environment that offers everyone the chance to "train hard and fight easy".

It is an invitation for squadrons within the IL2 community to join the new Locked Pit division of the United Squadrons League which is planned to start in the new year. Please give it full consideration amongst your pilots as it would be great to have a quality squadron like II/JG1 aboard come the start of the league.

II./JG1 is still recruiting. We're currently looking for both fighter and Jabo (fighter-bomber) pilots of all skill levels.

II./JG1 is an English-speaking North American based squadron which practices in the GMT-5 time zone. Out of our 30+ members, we do currently have some international pilots, however.

II./JG1 is also a proud "member squadron" of the Full Immersion Squadron Community (FISC): http://www.gofisc.com/

As a result, we prefer to fly "full switch".

II./JG1 has a first-class basic training program which goes over tactics, gunnery, formation flying and navigation. We also have excellent Flight Leader and experten training programs for more experience members.

Currently, JG1 is involved in Scorched Earth tournaments with various squadrons, as well as the Forgotten Skies dogfight tournament.

We focus on the Fw 190 as our primary fighter of choice, but do fly the other Luftwaffe aircraft as well.

Our training program is excellent, as is our reputation in the air.
