All depends on your outlook Thrust... Whether you're an optimistic pessimist, or a pessimistic optimist (glass half full/half empty concept) I'd say. Winky Big Grin

~S~

Happy New Year to all!

Made a resolution to start flying more? Why not join a Squad?

Vultures Row (VR) is a well-established Squad, formed during the CFS (Combat Flight Simulator) days going on six years ago. We are still strong after many inevitable changes. Our Commanding Officer (CO), _VR_Lightning), is a pilot in the real world and his knowledge of the physics of a dogfight has saved us from destruction many a time!

We have two Fighter Wings, one for each side of the Atlantic, which compete in battles once a month for a trophy. North America's "Condor Wing" won the 2007 Ghost Trophy after a late-year revival by Europe's "Eurohawks Wing" - I'm from England and I want revenge this year!!

Our "Pathfinders Wing" is for all you big birds. Mass bomb runs in dogfight servers are something of a VR speciality, but we don't limit ourselves - co-op missions are very popular! In fact, using a campaign generator, the VR Online Campaign (VOC) has been through many seasons and has proved a big success.

We provide training for pilots who are new to our Squad. Training in the Officer Cadet School (OCS) covers all the basics you need to fly with us, ranging from the newbie's takeoff and landing lesson to the veteran's dogfight lesson. Training continues in our Fighter Wings with the Advanced Fighter Course (AFC) designed to teach you effective manoeuvres for wingman combat.

All that aside, we do enjoy a good dogfight every now and again!

~S~

~S~ Vultures Row from 334th Eagle Squadron.

Just giving you a *bump* and to let you know that i've sent you and invitation to the United Squadrons League for the forthcoming season - we'd really like to get your squad on board.

Unfortunately although I looked at your site I couldn't find a forum where I could make a post to your whole squad so I mailed direct to ocs@vultures-row.com - I hope that you can ensure that somebody gets this mail please Thumbs Up and gives it serious consideration - Trust me, enter the league and you'll have a blast Big Grin

My contact is 334th_Osprey@hindshaw.demon.co.uk and the USL website is www.il2league.com - fire away with any questions that you may have.

Hope to hear from you

Hello CaptainHunter,

That's very sad to hear m8. Sad Eyes Being a former Vultures Row chap a few years ago. Eek

I well recall the happy times spent flying with the likes of such great bods; Ghost... (girly btw) one of the best, and may I add an excellent pilot to bootBig Grin Thrust another great chap! Cutter, Andrejp, and High5 to name just a few. I am surprized and dismayed.

I'm sure your Command Wing will soon have things sorted. and you'll return to the halcyon days. Wink

That's a real shame High5... to hear the demise of such a great squadron. What on earth went wrong? We had a very good structured format in general. The OCS training syllabus being second to none! (in my view) Wink

I occasionally spot you, and Jabout in HL from time to time. Please give him my regards when you see him next! Wink2

Thought I'd get a response from Tuvok at least! Tongue

Vultures Row is revamping activity after a long slumber. We've pulled out the old ranks and looking for new ones.

Activity we're currently engaged in:

Dynamic Campaign Generated missions - Italy 1943 (with the use of Lowengrin's DCG program)

Dogfight Sessions - We fly on either the "Zekes vs Wildcat" or "Spits v 109" server. We also host a dogfight session of our own; open to all.

Training Sessions - A couple of our guys conduct the routine training sessions from basics for new recruits to the standard dogfight tactics.

Coops and Mods - Enriching our flying experiences, we're jumping into the mod realm with maps and more.
