~S~ If you are looking for a relaxed squad but still want some structure and an excellent training program....look no further. We are on most nights of the week. Our youngest pilot is 18 (exception) and our oldest is near 70. We keep it respectful on our ventrilo server. The USN is friendly and helpful to each other and other members of the IL2 community.
We run a campaign (pacific theater) on Saturday nights using DCG and during the week we do coops ,dogfights and training. We are currently seeking Fighter and Bomber pilots. We have a good training program for bombers and fighters alike. We currently have about 14 active pilots and could use a few more to round things out.
Just joined up not too long ago. These guys are friendly and they know the business. The training is effective and fun. The campaign on Saturday nights is a blast. This is the perfect unit for those who like to fly in the perfect mix of professionalism and fun.
This is the squad to be in if your looking into furthering your sim experience in IL-2. I've been flying for a year or so on IL-2 and I don't think you'll find many other squads with the structure and challenge as USN has to offer. Flying solo in the regular Servers can be choatic and disheartening for beginners... If you want a chance to pick up a few things and fly with people who can teach you a thing or too, this is it. Give us a try. Find out about the rest of our members and other squad activities, etc. throughout the forum at http://usnsquad1946.freeforums.org/
Since you represent my service in a virtual sense, I was going to point out that the way you are using your warfare devices is incorrect, but then I saw you modified them as well. I'm not sure why, but you may or may not know that a pilot uses the single anchor gold wings. A Naval Flight Officer (in the air, but doesn't control) uses the crossed anchors. An enlisted Aircrewman uses the circle with the single anchor, with "AC" on either side of the anchor's Shank. (What you have are 'Aviation Observer' wings) Anyway, the Pilot wings would be most appropriate for all your members regardless of rank, since they all "fly" in one capacity of another.
Just some FYI in case you are interested.
