Hello all, trying this flight sim thing for the first time properly, so hope i picked the right one. (IL-2 Sturmovik 1946).
Was going to go for "Heroes Over Europe" but decided i couldnt wait so here i am at IL-2.
Fresh out the box, GMT timezone, looking for a nice (patient) fun friendly squadron to learn from and to guide me through the first difficult hours, days, weeks, months, years of my chosen career/game.
I have already looked into Joint Ops but due to RL commitments and the time needed to complete it well that would be a none starter for me (wife, family) probably the same for a lot of you.
For the time being will be trying my best to get to grips with this game, hang in Hyperlobby and hope to hook up with a (GMT - European) squadron in the not too distant future.
But for now i wish you all well up there in the blue skies.

-Salute- to you all

Welcome Rapid!

The Fightin' Irish Squadron is well worth a look-see. We are a very easy-going mess o'mates who fly when we can find the time. Currently we are busy on Wednesdays around 7:30 GMT with co-ops, dogfights (df's) and campaigns. On Friday around the same time we are starting a new SEOW* campaign with the mighty 69GIAP. Sundays are our big get-together. Again, at 7:30 we fly 'til we drop. All week long you can find us in HyperLobby. Look for the =FI= or :FI: prefix. We offer all the training, tech help, mod help, custom and historic skinning and all the camaraderie you can stand.

So, pass on by the =FI= forums and meet the fearless flock.

We'll treat you right.

Pryvet Rapid,

You should consider joining the current graduation of kadets at =69.GIAP=.

Don't worry about time and family commitments, all Soviet combatants are assigned a compatible family by their local kommissar.

Hi Rapid

56 Sqdn RAF(v) are a European Time zone squad. We meet Wed and Sun around 7:30 for 8 to 10 pm
and we're on line in ones and twos on most nights.

Look up our website (see below my signature) and see if we are what you are looking for.

We like to fly the harder settings, sometimes aicraft icons and Map 'own a/c' icon, nothing nore. We take enthusiasts from any level of experience and we have a wide range of ages in the squadron. Although we like to 'do it right' we also have a lot of fun.

If you are interested use the link on our Recruitment page (sends us an email, no form filling nonsense). Our recruitment officer BuzzDb will get back to you. Smile

Good luck

klemlao, tried the link to "Firebirds" website but its not working, would like to be able to view it though.

Falcon_41, viewed website, i am considering my options, many thanks for the reply.

GIAP.Shura, visited your website, liked what i have seen, but again, considering my options.

USN_Propulsion, thank you for your post but i think i would prefer a GMT/Euro timezone, nice website though.

Looks like i'm going to have a hard choice, decisions to make.

Hi Rapid,

something went wrong in here because I had an email saying you had posted a reply but it isn't here to be seen. Anyway I have sent you a private message in this forum with my email address. If you can't find that use the Contact Us on our website and contact the CO (me), I know that works.

S!
