Before I go ahead and write down details about my flying preferences like a job application, are the squadrons just for online campaigns or other stuff as well?

but there's so many :P

tbh i'll fly most fighters or even bombers happily, on either side. I'm not great at carrier landings yet, so sorry but US/IJN might be out of the question for now.

Also for time zones i'm GMT central... but i'm not sure on availability.

For Axis fighters i prefer <1944 fighters, but i'm happy in the 109z.

Don't give up on the Corsair or Hellcat without trying first. We can train you up. We Fly Central time, and we tend to be fun.

Hi,
We are II./JG53 and are a CO-OP group with a worldwide membership split into three sections based upon geographical location. Our largest section by far is our UK / EU section with around 30+ members but our US/CAN section is growing and becomming quite active.
As an established CO-OP group with over 80 members with around 40-50 active, we are looking for BF109 pilots from all over the world to fly Co-op missions with us. We have three sections, one absed in the UK/EU, one in the USA/CAN and another based in AUS/NZ, all are operational and have plenty of active and dedicated pilots all waiting to welcome you into the group!

We have no age limits however all we ask is that you are a mature person who will fit in with a group that is made up of people of many different ages ranging at present from 14 - 60+

We fly using 1946 patched to the latest full version and have recently started to use our own JG53 mod pack that was compiled to ensure enhanced realism and additional maps/flyables whilst remainging balanced and fair for all members. We are currently operating over Sicily in Mid 1943, we are currently flying the BF109G2. We allow our pilots to fly in other IL2 squadrons providing mission times don't clash - we do this as we know some people like to have a co-op squad and an online "wars" squad as well as those who enjoy being in an "axis" squad and a different "allies" squad. So if you're looking for a CO-OP squad to fly with, id ask you to consider joining us here at II./JG53.

You've probably seen a fair few of us messing about on Hyperlobbby the past few days, if you've enjoyed flying with us, or just watching to random banter then feel free to drop by our forums and say hi, no obligation to join!

You can find our website here; http://www.IIJG53.com
With a link to the forums and "sign up" in the navigation bar as well as our Roster, Awards and News pages!

Hope to see you in the air with us soon!
V

We are on every night at 8pm est...several pilots have told me that our training is the most fun they have had with this sim to date. We can teach you how to fly the navy planes and just about anything else. We are laid back and just want good mature people to fly with.

Check us out...its worth a peek!

so the squadrons are for campaigns. I wouldn't be the most dedicated flyer :S...

I can fly for set times on occasion probably, depends when they are :S.

By the by, i have tried carrier landings.. twice before. First time (in a Val) the wheels fell off, wings came off, prop messed up, but the pilot was fine. Second time (Seafire) i caught the arrester cable fine, but my angle of attack was too steep, so i bounced and at the peak of the bounce my speed was 0. came crashing down and the wheels fell off. Few more times should get it right Smile.

Not all squadrons are for campaigns, if you just want some online dogfighty type stuff then check out some of the other squadrons recruitment threads in this area.

I definately recommend trying The Fighting Irish if you want a bit of everything including a bit of crazy - of course, unless you want the full cooperative experience that I described in my previous post - in which case shun those Guinness Guzzlers and come to JG53 where the bar tab is shared equally - to a certain extent Wink

Schnee,

The Fightin' Irish Squadron flies to the tune of GMT Central ... usually. We fly df's, campaigns, co-ops, whatever; anything to keep us safely indoors and mindlessly occupied. There are no flying requirements other than having a plane. Visit our forums by clicking the pic below.

Welcome and best of luck,

sounds good to me. Looked at the website for it, sounds like my sort of squadron. where do i sign Smile.

also seeing as the irish were neutral in the world wars, i'll be intrigued to find out what the campaigns are like.

Being part irish it'd be a good choice as well :P

Schnee,

Well, officially the Irish were neutral.

Wink

The campaigns are set in every theater. We fly both sides. We have a sheep-load of excellent mission makers who supply us with the best stuff. We use the historic Ire Green paint scheme from time to time.

You sign up by clicking on the SQUADRON button on the front page. Click on the phrase "application form" in the greeting letter and then register. Go ahead and say hello and get involved with any of the threads and find out when and where we fly.

Hope to see you soon,

=FI=Falcon
