I am looking for an immersive experience in a virtual Naval squadron. I am looking for full real (or VERY close to it), I'm not a fan of map icons or unit icons. I am also looking for training, I have been flying a while but I doubt I come close to knowing how to execute every maneuver that I need to know how to perform. I am looking for dynamic campaigns ( I want my kills to MEAN something ). I also look highly on a group that rewards dedication to learn with qualifications and rewards teamwork ( What's the point of being in a squadron and not watching eachother's backs). This is my comfort zone, on station on some aircraft carrier in the middle of the pacific:

I Also Enjoy a bombing role :

But of course I'm not opposed to hopping in as a fighter jock Razz

Hi,
Sadly I cannot direct you to a Pacific naval group as its not really the type of thing I have had any dealings with. I am mainly here to wish you luck in your search for that specific type of group.

However, apart from that theatre/speciality you have pretty much listed what JG53 is all about - so Il present you with our group as a back up plan:
We are II./JG53 and are a CO-OP group with a worldwide membership split into three sections based upon geographical location. Our largest section by far is our UK / EU section with around 40+ members but our US/CAN section is growing and becomming quite active. Our Aus/NZ section has 8 active pilots and another 2 new recruits who fly two official mission nights per week as well as most other nights for some training flights.
As an established CO-OP group with over 80 members with around 40-50 active, we are looking for BF109 pilots from all over the world to fly Co-op missions with us. We have three sections, one based in the UK/EU, one in the USA/CAN and another based in AUS/NZ, all are operational and have plenty of active and dedicated pilots all waiting to welcome you into the group!

We have no age limits however all we ask is that you are a mature person who will fit in with a group that is made up of people of many different ages ranging at present from 14 - 60+, I have to admit though it is rare for someone who is under 15 to be admitted to the squadron as they rarely show the maturity needed but we always give people a chance.

We fly using 1946 patched to the latest full version and have recently started to use our own JG53 mod pack that was compiled to ensure enhanced realism and additional maps/flyables whilst remainging balanced and fair for all members. We are currently operating over Smolensk in Mid 1943, we are currently flying the BF109G4.
We allow our pilots to fly in other IL2 squadrons providing mission times don't clash - we do this as we know some people like to have a co-op squad and an online "wars" squad as well as those who enjoy being in an "axis" squad and a different "allies" squad. So if you're looking for a CO-OP squad to fly with, id ask you to consider joining us here at II./JG53.

You've probably seen a fair few of us messing about on Hyperlobbby the past few days, if you've enjoyed flying with us, or just watching to random banter then feel free to drop by our forums and say hi, no obligation to join!

You can find our website here; http://www.IIJG53.com
With a link to the forums and "sign up" in the navigation bar as well as our Roster, Awards and News pages!

Hope to see you in the air with us soon!

I'll definitely pop in and say hello sometime, I really like the 109, but I am pretty stuck on joining a carrier group. And I BELIEVE I found what I am looking for :
Pacific Task Force 78 Battle Group, which has a few squadrons in it itself, and if they are what I THINK they are, it's perfect for me, SEOW is something I wish to get into.. and they seem to fly together, I just need to get in touch with someone from there

Well-
We may not be Navy, but we do fly our TBMS, Corsairs, and Hellcats from the deck of the USS Gilbert Islands. We are MCVG-2, made up of VMF-512 and VMTB-143, so we are a historical marine squadron. We fly mainly Zekes and Wildcats type settings, So closed cockpit, no icons...almost full real. We do have a training program, and you have the ability to earn awards through campaigns, squad work, and other online fun. Stop by and Visit us.

Skarmy,

I see by our TS server log that you joined the JSAWG TS briefly the other night when no one was on.

Are you interested in the squad?

Hello and thank you guys for the replies, I am pretty sure I have found the group I will be flying with.. Bostimax, I believe they are affiliated with your group as I've seen some endorsements from the 3rd Bomb Group and 51AG and know those 2 have something or other to do with your squadron as you have them linked on your site and the squad leader has an account on your forums. They are the VBF-12. Hopefully I will be integrated into their ranks this weekend and hopefully I will see you guys in the air, I'm pretty sure they fly a lot of Okinawa 1945.

You should have a look at 200th. I've flown against them a few time. They are FULL SWITCH nothing less. Redwulfs have a great respect for 200th.

Look for 200th Sakagawa on HL. I think their site is down at the moment.

Bit of an old thread to drag up, but I believe he joined VBF-12 in the end.

Looking to fly again, I'll definitely check some of you guys out as soon as I figure out why my Y axis isn't working for IL2 even though it shows movement in calibration software. And as soon as I get my track IR again, which should be tomorrow, tried flying without it and it felt disgusting.

I'm ready for induction, everything is working, I have my track IR going, and I'm looking for a group to fly with.. I would really enjoy joining in on some online campaigns Big Grin. Checking out the BSS now, hopefully they are active, I like to fly a lot and having a wing man on those full switch servers is a lifesaver (literally).

Salute Skarmy

RAF74 is a longtime well establish Squadron, which does fly off carriers in many situations, although not exclusively. We are currently involved in a Mediteranean campaign, which involves carriers and flying Martlets. (Martlet is the RAF name for the Wildcat) We are looking for new members.

Check out our homepage:

You may want to take a look at us if you're still in the market for a full switch USN squad that meets three times a week and that participates in campaigns (SEOW). Thumbs Up
