Anyone can fly and fight in Spitfires and 109/190. Fighting and winning in a P47/P51 is what separates the good pilots from the rest! Do you have the right stuff to fly a P47/P51 against the menacing Luftwaffe?

If you are interested in mainly flying the P47/P51 but were put off by timezone issue - virtually all USAAF squadrons are US-based - here is the chance to make your dream come true:

Join the virtual 336th Fighter Squadron that resembles its famous real-world predecessor, the 336th Fighter squadron of the 4th Fighter Group, that brought forth such famous aces like Don Blakeslee, Don Gentile, James Goodson, Claiborne Kinnard and many more.

The virtual 336th Fighter Squadron was created as a full-real squadron that tries to fly its missions as close to reality as possible and thus to give you the chance of witnessing what it was like to be a USAAF fighter pilot of the 8th/9th/15th AF. The 336th Fighter squadron therefore flies on public servers (full-real settings only) and uses co-op missions. Our missions focus on bomber escort, fighter sweeps and ground attacks.

The 336th Fighter squadron is looking for pilots who

- are at least 18 years of age or older
- are able to read, write and speak English
- are willing to fight as a team member to down the Jerries
- are willing to use real-life procedures when flying
- are able to meet and fly on Mondays and Wednesdays, 18:30 UTC.

Have a look at our forum and drop a note to join the elite of the Fighter Squadrons

We are still looking for new pilots and would be happy to see your application at our forum.

If you want to see the 336th Fighter Squadron in action you can find us at the Spits vs 109 mod and the Wildcat vs. Zeke servers most of the time.

The 336th Fighter Squadron would be glad to support bomber squadrons with escort there. Just give us a hint and we'll take you to the target and back home.

Hello Guys,

I am very interested in joining the 336th FS, I love flying the P-47 and P-51 and i've been flying IL-2 for the past 5 years. However I have a few problems...

I see that your minimum age required is 18, I am currently 15 (il be 16 on November 29th) However I personaly do not think that this should be a problem, I will provide you with a little background information about myself:

I am from the UK, I love flying as a team, I've been flying CFS, CFS2, FS2000, FS2004, FSX and IL-2 since i was 5 or 6 years old. My favourite aircraft to fly in IL-2 is the P-51 Mustang, Over the past few years i have spent the majority of my time flying formation aerobatics in the Mustang which as you can probably imagine involves a huge ammount of practice and team work.

Last year, when i was 14, I was accepted onto the Blue Eagles Virtual Air Demonstration Team. The minimum age was 16 at the time however they felt that i was mature enough to represent to team. Unfortunately the team shut down after 3 years of flying, a few months after i joined because the leader wanted to persue other hobbies.

Here is a video of the team: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKGQw7O8u5s

I am now the leader of the Virtual Horsemen, The Virtual Horsemen's goal is to represent the real Horsemen aerobatic team as closely as possible in IL-2. We are sponsored by the real team who have been great providing us with any help we need, and have paid for our website to be designed and built. The Virtual Horsemen will be the first none Lock On Aerobatic team to perform at the Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams (VFAT) in the events 5 years history. Our website is available here: www.virtual-horsemen.com

I beleive this will show you that i am mature enough, However, because i have spent the majority of my time flying formation aerobatics, my combat skills are limited. I have only recently started flying full real in combat servers and i am really enoying it. I am able to fly all positions in formations and am willing to learn any combat tactics that you are willing to teach.

I hope you will consider my application,

Regards,

Rob.
