The Wedge Tailed Eagles a long standing FB+AEP+PF Unit is recruiting Pilots! Are you located within the Australasia, New Zealand, Oceania Region? Within our time zone? Are you seeking a Unit that involves itself in all levels of game play from our own internal Campaigns to External Squadron Challenges?

If you answered Yes to these things then the Wedge Tailed Eagles want you!

Enjoy the thrill of Fighter Combat, Level Bombing, Dive Bombing and Strike missions with Australasia's largest unit. They say Size doesn’t matter? Well we say it does! Larger units have the strength of numbers and resources to run specialist Squadrons like bomber squads within their units. And that’s what WTE Does!

We run a Dedicated Fighter and Bomber Squadron for both Axis and Allied WTE Wings. That’s Two wings, each with a Fighter and Bomber Unit. As such we enjoy our own W.A.W. (World at War) Campaign each fortnight where our Axis and Allied wings compete on our own dedicated server as we play out the events and theatres of WWII. We also have a second Campaign using the famed Scorched Earth System where once again both the Internal WTE Axis and Allied Wings compete in a atmosphere of good natured competitiveness.

If it’s Longevity and Stability you seek, rest assured WTE are here to stay, we formed our IL2 Unit over five years ago and have been hard at it ever since. We have a proven record of longevity. If it’s diversity you crave we have that, with internal campaigns and external challenges. If your afraid your not good enough yet to fly with such a well established unit? Think again pilot! We have our own O.T.U. Squadron where we will train you as needed. There is no Elitism in WTE, we take young or old, new or veteran pilots who all share the same desire. To enjoy this game to it’s fullest, with a bunch of mates and within a fun and lively community.

Although due to the nature of this game, and connectivity, it is better to have a broad-band connection, WTE does not turn-away dial-up members.

We cater for all needs and levels of game play. If your green and dont feel your ready for a online unit we say "Bah Humbug" to that. -WTE LOVES N00Bs- We run a (OTU)Operational Training Unit for anyone who wants additional training. So wether you are new to the online side of our game or wether your a online veteran it doesnt matter, your equally welcome! Wether you prefer Axis or Allied Squads we have a place for you. Wether your a casual flier or a hard core competative pilot we have various levels of competition and activities that will suit you!

We started WAW August last year and are still going strong! We are up to early/mid 1943 now. We are also running an internal Wing vs Wing Scorched Earth campaign and are preparing for continuing external events vs other squads.

If you want to improve your flying skills, have a great time and fly with a great bunch of people than WTE is the way to go.

And once you have experinced a WAW event, it puts a whole new demension on the game, espically flying an axis bomber, go the 66th.

Our WAW missions are FBD Scripted.
We maintain an ongoing scoring system for WAW using FBStats.

We run an OTU (Operational Training Unit) for newcomers. Those who are more advanced are short tracked through OTU.

New recruits get free grog at the canteen for one month,free ammo,two nights off per week and extra dollars on dance night.
We live life in the fast lane, you never know when your number's up defending your country so there is a prepaid funeral plan as a little extra incentive.
All kidding aside this is a great squad in which to hone your skills, from novice to ace you will be welcomed and made to feel at ease.

We also have an annual Conference where we get together and shoot the bejeezus out of eachother in any game possible.

Well this is the place to be for all round good times where its nt too hard and certainly not too easy.
There are many squads around but not many that can field their own flying football teams and have it own internal war with good pings and gamplay that goes along with it.

If you enjoy PF+AEP, etc etc... and live in the Australasian region, take it to the next level - trust me, you'll enjoy it. We've got everything:
- Operational training unit (you get a feeling of 'earning' your wings)
- Axis and Allied squads
- bomber / fighter-bomber specific squad (460 Sqdn, my fav - we're good at EVERYTHING :P )
- World at War (we have our own internal WAW events where we recreate the historical battles within the confines of IL2 - awesome stuff).
- Air Racing, etc.

I'm predominantly a bomber pilot - theres nothing better than flying against real life opponents (usually the _RAAF_ squad) in formation with close escort by another squad).

Being a member of WTE has been a fantastic experience for me. If you had asked me what a Split S was I would have thought it was a gymnastic move You get much more out of flying with a group of mates who watch out for each other than flying around by yourself on the public servers. We still do that but there is always a WTE member ready to fly with you. Last Thursday was our most recent WAW comp and I counted 30 people on Teamspeak before we started and more joined during the night. It is awesome. Come join us what have you got to lose? You wont regret it
