In the passenger seat, wrestling with my conscience, as I watch you titans clash in this world in flames. To hell with Swedish neutrality. I'm volonteering! The question is just who or what to volonteer for...
I'm not a very good pilot, although I hope to keep improving. Right now I could use a pointer or two. Dabbler in many a/c, master at none. I still experiment with tactical low-altitude flatspins and advanced four point landings at times but not as often anymore. TIR4 arriving next week. I hope it will lower my odds somewhat. It's a hectic life online for a rookie, you know, dodging the generic Dora wings with TS left and right. A bit of a lose-lose situation. Flying solo on DF servers mixed with offline play is ok, I guess. But as an old (yes) online gamer, I like teamwork and would like to fly with others, do some coops and... well... the stuff you do... whatever it is you do... So, any chance there are any blank rows on the blackboards in any of the Europe based squadron briefing rooms out there? Rows that need to be filled in, even if it's not an with an ace's name. From Wolfenstein 3D to Red Orchestra, I have always found a certain pleasure in shooting down virtual German citizens. That's not to say I wouldn't enjoy shooting down Allies. I have no real preference, as long as I get to shoot at people. Virtually speaking of course. |

n00bd00d,
Stop wrestling with your conscience. Heck, toss it out of the window and come visit the mighty mates of the Fightin' Irish Squadron. We have several Swedes on the roster and they NEVER act neutrally! Not a very good pilot? Pfft! Some of us downright suck! Thank the dogs though that we have some very helpful and experienced pilots to help us all get better each week. The :FI: are from everywhere, but the balance is from Europe. We have two historic campaigns running constantly. One is The Goths Ride East on every Sunday at 1930 GMT. Hope to see you soon, :FI:Falcon click the pic below to visit the :FI: forums |

Though I'm a firm believer in being a member of a squadron as without question enhances the simulation 100 fold, I'd suggest you take the time and consider each squadron carefully. Visit their sites, fly with each that inspires you online a bit and get to know them and their demeanor.
It's important they fit your needs and you theirs. Folks are often too anxious to join a squadron and in kind squadrons too anxious to fill their rosters.............After the fact a poor time to decide if you're a good match for one another. A good place to start would be This Thread . There you will find squadrons active enough to check here though there are many others yet unfortunately the "squadron page" is a maze of dead links or no longer active units... Good luck in your search K2 |

Oh... more response than I had expected! I'll take everything under consideration and try figure out where my person and my schedule might fit in well, make a first contact and... then we'll see, I guess.
Say, I don't suppose any of you come with a TIR4 support hotline? |

n00,
The NaturalPoint folk are pretty good with setup. The Ubi "Community Help" guys here are good too and there is always help in the :FI: forums. Don't worry, I've heard few people complaining about setting up ther TrackIR stuff over the years. Luck as always, :FI:Falcon click the pic below for the :FI: forums |
