Hello, im very excited. i just bought IL 2 3 days ago and i liked it so much i dumped $130 on the a new flight stick the next day. Ive been training on ZuesCats Takeoff and landing campaign and im starting to really get the hang of this game and im starting to realize i want more. i want to become better and theres allot of aspects of this game that require me to more or less be trained.
So here i am. I am a 26 years old american. No real life flying experience. First Flight Sim EVER. but i defiantly caught the bug and would love to join a squadron of guys that wouldn't mind it if i asked them a billion questions on how to be better (especially navigation) or at least someone who wouldn't mind mentoring me. BTW ive been learning on full realism so far so i think im off on the right foot. im not familiar with how everything works as far as what i need to go through or what i should already know. but i will tell you that i am completly an open book at this point in time. thanks for your time. Hatekin,
Welcome to the wonderful world of IL-2! A better sim can not be found. You are welcome to visit the Fightin' Irish Squadron* forums and meet a great group o'guys. The :FI: are very active and can help you with all aspects of the game. We offer training and tech help to any who ask. We are currently holding training flights throughout the week. We fly historic campaigns on Friday nights and all afternoon on Sunday. Drop us a "hello" message in our "Off Topic" forum and peruse the other forums that are full of IL-2 info, history and humor. Best of luck, :FI:Falcon * Click on the sig below to visit our forums. |

Late reply Hatekin but check out the 334th Eagle Squadron, we run our own server in Hyperlobby and it's one of the most popular.
334th was born from RAF 71 Sqn in 1942 and led the kills in the ETO during WW2. We have nearly 50 active pilots within our international squad and our size is a sign of how much fun we are. Check our our website at www.334thEagleSquadron.com but more importantly our dedicated server (334th.Dedicated in Hyperlobby) and our free teamspeak server. ~S~ http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/23110283/m/2291025236 A: Questions about Signatures and Avatars We want to keep the forums fast loading so we have to minimize usage of pictures to a reasonnable size. Please follow guidelines posted here and restrict test posting to that forum. |

Hi Hatekin;
Though I'm a firm believer in being a member of a squadron as without question enhances the simulation 100 fold, I'd suggest you take the time and consider each squadron carefully. Visit their sites, fly with each that inspires you online a bit and get to know them and their demeanor. It's important they fit your needs and you theirs. Folks are often too anxious to join a squadron and in kind squadrons too anxious to fill their rosters.............After the fact a poor time to decide if you're a good match for one another. A good place to start would be This Thread . There you will find squadrons active enough to check here though there are many others yet unfortunately the "squadron page" is a maze of dead links or no longer active units... Good luck in your search K2 |
