You would need to keep an eye on the careers page and see what positions come up within the company.

I'm afraid they dont take game ideas in that way, you would need to work for the company

Maybe if you post your idea in the forums they'll listen, oh wait a minute its ubisoft....
How about a PM.... nope, ubisoft.... There's always emailing and letters, ah that's stupid, its still ubisoft.................. !!! I've got it; you could become the lead developer at a studio and begin your own project..... Nah that won't work it's ubisoft -------------------------------------------------------------- Gordon Brown has not only reached the point where everything he does goes wrong but people no longer hate him they simply feel pity. Well lets be honest, would you listen? The're quite frankly a load of crap or been done before and are just re-hashed ideas that the're trying to pretend are original. It's rather silly on here how some kid thinks there going to get there stupid idea made into a game. I read them and i thank god they don't even waist thier time giving it the once over. |

the best thing to do if you think you have agood idea for a game, is put it all down on paper, get all your stuff sorted (story, chars and other) then get together with some friends make a simple version of the game then try to release it as a small game (there are hundreds of games that came about this way popping up now) as long as your not breaking any copyrights or infringin on any1's IP no1 will complain and if your game is as good as you claim chances are your game will get spotted by a developer who could then offer to take you on to advance your idea.

True but my post was meant in a light hearted manner -------------------------------------------------------------- Gordon Brown has not only reached the point where everything he does goes wrong but people no longer hate him they simply feel pity. it is true most ideas people have are real crap, but some aren't.
and rather than building a whole new game on these good ideas, some of them could used in titles that are already in development like Far Cry 3. what truly is the best thing to do is to actually have a few people listen to all these ideas and filter out the good ones. but this is just purely my opinion. |

There's plenty already out there, the're called books. If you want to add a storyline to a game it's always been the best place to start. Even for FPS. Rainbow 6 anyone? We are after all after the best, and people who feel the need to post it here probably don't have the best. We get dozens on here and i'm pretty sure they've all been awfull. I may get proved wrong but i doubt it when most are simply "hey Ubisoft, why not make a game with customisable superheros, yeah i'd love that" Hmm, yes. We need more like that |

I think I just realized why a lot of UBI games get a low rating from Gamespot. Probably because the games they make are influenced by the ideas of the populace?

When it comes to game ideas it's a very dangerous situation to be in and you need to be incredibly careful. Ubisoft policy dictates we do not accept unsolicited game design ideas because of this and anything you email/mail into our offices is immediately deleted/throw away.
If you send us a game design idea and it just so happens we already have that idea and are implementing it, there could be all sorts of legal issues involved in that so we make a point of not accepting any ideas at all. However, if you wish to pitch a game idea then I suggest meeting up with Ubisoft at a trade show where they have a stand - E3, GamesCom, GDC, that sort of thing. In your pitch you'd need to have a fully fleshed out game design document and production plan (including milestones and budget) and then they may take a look at it after signing waivers, NDA's and all sorts of legal stuff. An alternative idea, like Kleaneasy said, is to get a job at Ubisoft and pitch internally but that's difficult in other ways. |

Well your in luck, Ubisoft have already aproached me about making it and giving me a large royalty |

well said. i wouldn't like game developers to create whole games based on ideas of a non-professional. however this doesn't mean ordinary people don't have good ideas that could be (partially) used. small ideas like "having your gun collide with the walls" for example, could be very useful for the developers. and the best thing about these small ideas is that they could easily be put into already existing projects (like Far Cry 3 for example). Ubi should actually keep their eyes open for these good little ideas and suggestions. the best thing about this is that Ubi isn't obligated to use these ideas. they can just pick ideas they like and freely use it the way they want to. this won't hurt Ubi but will rather help it. |
