I had recently purchased Assassins Creed. I updated with the latest patch online before I played this game. I don't know if the update is messed up or there are some real issues with the game itself?
I was trying to get combo hits by fast pressing button "X". For some reason it does not register properly and it was very frustrating to finish the game  I have tried other games halo series as well as splinter cell series to check the hardware response. It's not the console or the wireless controllers as the other games are responding well. I don't like to leave unfinished games but in this case I have no choice. I will be very critical of AC-II releasing this Fall. With my current experience I will not recommend AC-I. Lock stock and two smoking barrels: "Guns are for show, but knives are for a Pro!" |

you're not having problems whit the game...
you do not know how to play... you have to press the X button when your sword touch the foe's sword, the combo wont be successful by just pressing the x button like crazy and if in any case youre game were wrong you dont need the combo to pass the game  |

button mashing doesn't win games, careful timing does

yep as said above AC doesnt work with button mashing all the combat is down to timing. if you just keep spaming the button it will just keep registering that you missed the combo and not do it. (same with counters)

everyone is right its all timing,wish AC 2 was able to play on line
