I have read pretty much all the posts about the artifact nv_4 crashes. I noticed anyone with an 8800GT is having issues.
None of the solutions have worked on my computer. It has never crashed while playing another game. Is Ubi going to patch AC? |

The good new is yeh, they probably will release a patch...
The bad news is the patch won't actually fix any issues that the customers have noticed, it will just be a load of nonsense junk data that pretends to fix an imaginary problem that wasn't there to begin with... A couple of months later there'll be another patch... same sort of thing, and a few months down the line there'll be another. Non of the issues reported by customers will have been addressed, and there will be no more support for the game. If you want it to work properly, you'll have to go and study computer game programming and design at university, and rewrite the code that the ubi developers are too lazy to write themselves... Don't believe me? Have a look at Splinter Cell Double Agent, Rainbow Six Vegas (1&2!), and a bunch of other games in these forums that ubi could never be bothered to finnish...
That's why all the poor sods in the middle east keep fighting the occupying US/UK forces, they want to be free from the tyrannical oppression of the west |

I remember the whole Double Agent debacle... what a mess. It does seem that UbiSoft PC games tend to have the most complaints regarding crash issues, bugs, etc. logged on their forums. However, considering UbiSoft is one of the biggest game publishers out there now, these numbers may not be that suprising.
Unfortunately, over the years I've found that waiting for a patch that fixes things like crash issues is typically a frusturating experience. This is despite the developer/publisher that released the game and is certainly not confined to UbiSoft. I've also come to the realization that it is effectively up to the customer to solve their own problems when it comes to PC games. This is why you'll often see me and others helping when we can... we know and understand how it goes. |

@stugll: posty a DXdiag as 95% of all crashes in the game are caused by drivers and other hard ware config as I am running a geforce 8800 and have a few friends running 8800's who can all play the game 100% fine these systems were built by me and normaly kept up to date.
