Basic Specs
---------------------
Win XP - Fully patched
ATI Radeon 3870 - Latest Drivers
Dual core Athlon 64
2 gigs of ram.

I'm on the PC Steam downloaded version of AC which I just purchased and installed. When I start up the game most of the text is flashing. When I enter the game proper, the tutorial speeds by without pause, the audio for each character overlaps. They play without waiting for the previous one to stop. The character movement and cutscenes are also sped up with the audio. Also, there are offsets of pixels horizontally all down the screen, making it look like vsync is off but I've tried it both ways. Finally I can't even select a memory to begin the game.

I have tried lowering all graphics options to their lowest and even turning the resolution down low as well.

What the hell do I have to do to play the game I paid for?

For the members here to have a better idea of what's on your system and to better help you with troubleshooting, you should post a full DxDiag report here:

To do it, click on: Start, then choose Run, then enter in the word "DxDiag" (without the quotes), wait for it generate the report then save the file. Open the file then copy and paste it all into a new post here.

Fixed. Turns out it was my graphics driver, more specifically that I forgot to restart my computer after updating them.
