I just installed assassins creed about an hour ago...
I played it up to the ark of the coveneant part and i lagged basically the whole way there with the lowest graphics... My computer specs are good enough to handle it but it lags continuously...its no fun The only part it doesnt lag on is the beggining cutscene...but thats it... Thnx |

I have the same problem.
Got a gigabyte intel duo core 2.13 GHZ processor ATI Radeon HD 3870 graphics card 4 GB ram chucked in there... (Windows Xp, not vista) I think spec wise this game should run fine but when playing it lags and the sound gets dragged out aswell, its horribly annoying. i have tried to turn graphics down and resolution, but it doesnt make any difference. And set it back to default. The lag stops when I stop running in the game and it seems to catch up. But when start to enter a situation or running, it lags again and the sound jsut drags and gets distorted. Same happens when going into loading mode... I have also turned off all startup features and stop any virus program from running, since that seems to lag the comp aswell. Any one have any suggestions as to what I can do to sort it and have a smooth running Assassins Creed? Or this a case of 'just buy a 360...' Cheers Sarai |

I have the same exact problem, i just got the game and installed it and its terribly laggy, and the sound does not match the video. I have a hp dv9000 laptop, windows vista 64-bit, service pack 1, 4gb ram, Intel 2 duo 1.83 GHz. When i installed the game it said that the 1.83 GHz did not meet the minimum requirement of 1.9GHz, is that the problem???

the geforce 8600 is a low card to start with before having its power reduced for a laptop. without a full DXdiag all I can sugest is go to nvidia.com and get the latest mobile driver for your graphics card. other than that reduce the graphics settings and/or reduce the reselution till you get to an acceptable speed.

Turn of PhysX acceleration. I had the same problem. There are some games that can't handle it or something. It happned to me with mirrors edge also. I used to play it on a single core ****ty comp with high graphics and it worked fine but then I got a new computer quad core baughta powersupply and a new graphics card and everything and I installed mirrors edge and it lagged like a bastard. I was thinking WHAT THE HELL it seems this computer sucks compared to the last, ****ty computer I had.
After fiddling with the Nvidia control panel for a while I disabled PhysX acceleration and BOOm full graphics everything on high as can be an no lag what so ever went from a constant 10 fps to a constant 40 or so. (I didn't actually clock the fps speed I am just saying). |
