they just want to focus on delivering a great game right no otherwise they'll have to push back the release date to fine tune multiplayer settings.
And yes assassins creed is based off of the brotherhood of Hashashins in the real world during the Crusades, But they don't want it to be RPG otherwise it'll get even MORE historically innacurate lol, they're sad even if a brick is not historically accurate, so don't count on it but Welcome to the forums skvakagud!

I think this would be awesome like some point through the game you meet up with an assassin and he helps you with an assassination once or twice in the game and after then multiplayer mode unlocked

u could do GTA IV cops n croocks style like an assassin has 2 escape the city whle templars hunt have 2 hunt him down

and it would delay it more, plus with it being open world he could just escape the city and hide in another town until it ends

Sure that there will be any kinde of multiplayer in assassins creed 2 and as far as i have seen there stood on the front of the gamebox (XBOX LIVE).

@jwdtje: That's what I have been saying all along that Ubi SAID they aren't, and the DLC at most would be some extra weapons and maps, u can't download multiplayer lol, the Xbox Live feature just means u can chat while in it, Prototype had it too, do u see anyone doing multiplayer on Prototype? I think there should be multiplayer in assassins creed 2 but not in a split screen version. That reason is because killing people with a friend would be fun but normally if there is split screen in a game you always have to be close to your friend and that gets annoying to me. It would be very fun if it was only online though because if there were multiple targets in a mission spread out all over the map your friend could pop in and kill the ones on one half of the map while you kill the ones on the other half.

Assassin's Creed 2 WILL have Multiplayer,(well that's what I am betting... Otherwise the Developer Diaries would not number up to 6, as most new game features have been announced and the following diaries simply won't give the Plot away any further than they already have!) if only in the form of Point To Point Races as this could have been easily implemented in AC(1), but time limitations were not permitting this for XBL, PSN or PC Online versions...

Split screen would never have made it to AC(1), regardless, as there would have been many an XBL User left out in the cold, due to the limitations of DVD's for the 360....

Anyway, these are just my thoughts, nothing more...

Don't say you weren't warned though...

they have stated in a Q&A at one of the game conventions the game wont have multiplayer and from what Atmon is saying there is still a lot more we don't know about the game including the fact they have said Rome is in the game but never gave any info on it yet.

trust me from the features they have told us that will be in game (not including the one's they haven't told us about) there is still plenty more to fill the rest of the dev diaries.
