It's probably because of your video card, Your computer hardware seems to be that of a workstation and not a gaming computer.
The Quadro series of video cards is meant for serious applications such as CAD and Graphical Design, it's not unfortunately meant as a gaming video card, this may be the main cause of your problem.
Without knowing your driver dates, I'm unsure if this will help, but there is a quite recent WHQL driver for the Quadro, released on 6/6/08 :- Quadro Release 169.96

If you want to play most new games at a good detail level, at least a Radeon HD 3870, or a GeForce 8800GT, you can go higher, but it starts to get expensive, you can go cheaper, but then the card will have trouble in the future as games get more demanding.

Geforce 9800 is the best, I think?

And the 8800 is better then the 9600? Or am i wrong?

I don't really have to think about the money (reason personal, not stealing Big Grin)

Yes, it is, the 8800 is better than the 9600, even though it's a newer series, it's equivalent in that range to the 8600, the first number is the model series, and the following numbers are a guide to its power and place in the range.
And of course, there's also the latest range, the 200 series, although some of the technology in the GTX280 will need games written to support it.

GeForce 200 series

and a screen with a higher res than a 1080p HDTV otherwise the GTX200 cards are normaly around the same as the 9800 and on low res screens it can even be slower than the 9800.

-best Radeon card: HD 4870 but you have to wait 1 week before it is available in Netherlands. It is a sensational card, almost as fast as a GTX280 at half the price (estimated 240 euro's).
You can already buy HD 4850.
-Best Geforce card: GTX 280. Costs about 540 euro's. For that price you could buy 2 Radeon 4870's put them in crossfire if your motherboard supports it and surpass the GTX280 in every game.
-GF 9500 is trash, do NOT buy it.

In your first post you say you have a Intel(R) Xeon, that's not exactly a gaming performance processor.
So you have an Intel-motherboard, no sense choosing between AMD or Intel processor. Your choice would have to be between your current Xeon or a Core2Duo or Core 2 Quad. But then, what motherboard do you have exactly.
And then, probably you'd need to upgrade your PSU as well...
I'm afraid your option buying a completely new system is the best option.

Thx for your comment BlindNero
My mother is the one who pays. And she buys from the HP shop. (So she don't have to compose one herself). And i think it will be later in the HP shop. So what about the computers I proposed? Please comment Wink

I see, in fact it is not only choosing between AMD Phenom 9500 or Intel Q6600, but also between XP and Vista...
Anyway, no doubt, between the two (if both have the same price): the Q6600 one.
It doesn't say what price it is though, maybe € 1299 too?

Yes, they give you no other choice: best is the Q6600 system, and it has Vista (no XP).
