*Time Played since I bought game: Total of 12hrs
*Crash=NONE

Okay so I generally play the game 2-4hrs at a time; I'm on Assassinatin #4 or rather Memory Block 4 which means instead of sent to 1 city at a time I was told I need to visit 3 cities all at once (sort of speaking); So I did 1/3 in Memory Block 4.

As noted I've probably played the gamea total of 10hrs+ and ironically enough I havent had the game crash yet........wait....wait just a sec **** I think I remember it froze; but it froze once. Wow if only I can remember; I think I barely remembered it hanging up while I was in the middle of climbing and I think via Ladder and I also think it was Memory Block 3

Well I was originally gonna post that I havent had any issues but I just barely remembered hehe

However good news is that its only happened once; so hmmmm

I highly doubt they are going to pursue the matter any farther. It's been how long now and not even a response...

This game is absolutely brilliant. I played it for like 4 hours straight without any freezing, the only complaint I have is the screen tearing. Uncharted and this game got some bad screen tearing.

Is this a PS3 problem or just a game issue???

technicaly its working for some people so if you did try to claim ubi had sold you faulty goods ubi would just blame sony then sony would blame ubi and going that way till the case gets chucked out so nothing would get done.

if you are using a hdtv it could be the hdmi lead or the rez set wrong for your tv as i have had these problems with other hdmi products as alot of the cheaper leads are slower than what is needed.

Ok. This is my second time owning Assassin's Creed. The first time, I had MANY freezes. I didn't have a way to get the patch then, and I don't now. This time, I'm on the last assassination target and have only had the game freeze up a total of 3 times. I noticed that when the game loads and the loading bar moves quickly, it will freeze. When the loading bar moves at a steady slower pace, I get ZERO freezes. So when I boot up AC and see that loading indicator whiz by, I eject the disc and try again. It's worked 100% of the time for me, so if you can't get the patch, try this. It's a pain in the butt, but it's better than constant freezing. Sounds like a cache issue to me Ubi.

my xbox 360 version freezez for 1 sec but you dont even notice it so its fine with my 360 version. great game btw me and my brother love it and are so addicted!

Ever since I put this game into my PS3, most of my games are freezing too. Uncharted not as much, but enough to get me annoyed, and in Rachet and Clank.

i just ended up playing my friends copy on his 360.

I have assassins creed on the ps3 and have suffered with freezeing severel times through the game. so much now i havent played for a while.

On April 22nd, they said that a patch was "forthcoming". For all we know (and considering how they seem to have abandoned their support forums and knowledge bases), that can be months from now.

Yea give us freaking patch for ps3 already!

my games are freezing too

I believe the problem could be a combination of bugs in the games and the OS.

I believe also that most of the problems are from the OS.

In many forums, people mentioned what's below as the solution:

1. Remove demo games since Sony put a protection to freeze the PS3 if you play free demos for a long time.

2. Remove the information board because it has a bug and causing the freeze.

3. Disable the internet since it is the reason.

etc...


I have tried all of those and none of them helped.

I have PS3 40G V2.0. It used to work perfectly until one day it froze on me and kept freezing after doing any of the following:

1. Play any game for about 3 minutes.
2. Exiting the browser.
3. Exiting a video.
4. And other things which I can't remember now.

I believe the problem could be from the OS code instructions.

If I play a movie, it works fine.
If I play a game, it doesn't.

If the PS3 freezes, the PS button on the controller becomes useless.

Sometimes press the power buttons restarts the machines and sometimes it freezes.

If I press the power switch off in this case, I can't use the PS button on the controller to start up again.

But, if I shutdown the console using the PS button before it freezes, it shuts down without any problem. And starts up without any problems using the PS button.

It seems that the old version of the OS had minor issues and the games back then had minor issues too. I believe V2.0 of the OS has major issues, which caused the games to go nuts too.

The fix should come from the Sony first and then the game providers if the OS instructions were not compatible with the old games' instructions.

Sounds like an infinite loop to me.

The only game that has ever really frozen up on me is AC on the PS3. I have the latest flash update for the ps3 so that's probably why nothing else freezes. I agree that UBI will probably do nothing about it at this point. They're probably working tirelessly on the sequel and hopefully using beta testers to ensure that they aren't blessed, or cursed, with another issue as embarrasing as this one. Funny thing is that all the critics praised AC and justly so. What they didn't do was play it long enough to get the lovely game freezing that forces you to do a hard reset. Anyway, like I said, I'm waiting for the next installment and I'm praying it won't have the same issues. To be safe though, I won't buy it on release day. I'll wait a month or two and revisit this forum to see if there are any new threads with the sequel freezing up.
