Its a combo of buttons that are pressed starting with R1 and its usally in the first part of game only

hey anyone in the uk, well ive heard that last monday UBI started recalling some of the AC games, anyone know if its true or false

I`m running 2.00 and it has frozen on me with a loss of sound when moving to masyaf to jerusalem but i could still move the camera.

i'm not even getting the game started. i put it in the ps3 and it recognizes the disk and doesnt then just sits on a black screen without ever loading the game

I highly doubt that. I have Oblivion, Ratchet and Clank, Folklore, and Uncharted. Oblivion froze twice over the several months I've owned it, and the other games are freeze free. Assassins Creed on the other hand froze like crazy(I switched it for Uncharted). Plus did you notice the frame rate and screen tearing? I need to get COD 4... |

mmm its not a PS3 problem, all my games except AC work.
i emailed UBI and i still got the same reply Assassins Creed is fine, no faults at all, The latest update for it ha some faults but otherwise the game works. Like hell i say, i tried with and without the new patch, without the patch the games frame rate was terrible, everytime i rotated the camera the picture would break up abit. With th patch that dosent happen but the freezeing issue is huge!!!!!!!!!!! come on UBI i love your computer games and ps3 games but your seriously slacking, just cause any problems can be fixed with a patch dosnt mean you can slack in testing the games |

Yes, it is definately a problem that Ubi needs to fix. I have Ratchet and Clank that has only frozen on me once or twice, oblivion hasn't frozen on me yet, but Assassins's Creed freezes everytime I play it. Uncharted didn't freeze on me once during the entire game. So UBI, your loyal fans are begging you to please fix this issue. We don't want it half-way fixed. We want it completely fixed so we can enjoy the game.

Well at least now I know the rumours are true, I'm not sure how to download thepatch for it myself but that doesn't overlook the fact that my console will play anything but AC.
I know I'm just another adding to the complaints but damn, i paid good money for the game and waited in anticipation of it long enough to have now replaced one faulty version for it to be replaced by another faulty version and I'm in two minds whether or not to try replacing it again or just get a complete refund and get something else. *Shakes fist* |

i tried to contact amazon about another exchange (third one *tsk*) and they said that they would be launching an investigation cause they arnt selling AC anymore because people just return them *ha*
BTW you download the patch via the internet or there is another way but all i know is that if you are connected to the internet the game automaticly finds the patch, but for me...i think my game works better without the patch, i went a whole 20minutes before it froze *whoot* with the patch i would be lucky to get that far |

my version has not gone past the home page of the ps3 it will recognise the game then go blank and freeze i have changed the game, playstationand tv connections. it works on another consol but not the 2 that i have had.

THIS IS A PS3 ISSUE. It happened once to me during Heavenly Sword, and once during Call of Duty 4. I've only had it since Christmas and I only own those two games. I have a 40gig with FW 2.0. There was no pattern I noticed regarding the timing of each freeze. I'm worried it will get worse, as one of the answers on Yahoo Answers states "not only will it freeze, but the system will completely be ruined in a matter of a few months."

If your running FW 2.00, then an update to the latest firmware should help with any strange issues your having with your current firmware. 2.00 is known to be less than stable, the new firmware is 2.10. I`m running it right now and it is much more stable for me.
If your not connected to the internet via the ps3, then you may want to download it from the Playstation website. Make sure you visit the correct site though I.e US/EU/JAP etc, and then look for "PS3 System Updates", instructions are avaliable on how to do it as well. Hope it helps. This issue is not related to the ps3. I have, and have had 2.10 FW before I even purchased the game. I have had other titles lock on me but not nearly with the frequency of AC. This does it every single time I play the game. Doesn't happen in the same spot either. It just chooses when to lock up forcing a reboot by you. This has nothing to do with the ps3 and everything to do with OBI. They know of this issue, which is why they released the patch. Problem is that they didn't fix everything with the patch, which is obvious by following this thread. If it was ps3 related then Obi would have pointed everyone to the vendor. They didn't. They gathered comments, went back to the game, worked with developers to create a patch and released it. Again, the patch didn't fix everything and it should have been offered to to regular obi players for testing first. That didn't happen, to my knowledge. Obi knows of this problem and it's their responsibility to fix it. I love obi and have many of their games but I refuse to put this game back in my machine because I hate rebooting. |

Yeah i know all that mate, Assassin`s Creed is broken with or without patch, but the guy above "foberto" Is on Firmware 2.00, which is known to have stability problems with games regardless of Assassin`s Creed which it will not fix, however it might help with the other games he is having problems with. - rev, 1.8 (no psn - posts here suggest there's no point to upgrade if the same issue persists, it's not the fw version)
- frequency - more frequent in missions 1-4 traveling through kingdom/first zone - no psn, no ib - epoch varies, have had it crash 5 seconds after leaving the training pit, other times play for 2-3 hours before it happens. i've run into softlocks where the camera thread still operates but the controller i/o goes dead, even for the ps button, requires hard reset. other times i've had it softlock, camera can't move, but i can ps button out with quit game. and other times, same as last but you can only power off the ps3. and then other times, it hardlocks, like a gpu stall/crash, and nothing responds other than hard reset. given that i've had it mostly early on while i still manually ran between cities in the kingdom, i would imagine the fault lies in a refcount bug in a complex scene, or simply the i/o thread bugging. i've never had it crash during white pop up tutorials, nor while im in combat. im always anonymous and searching for templars/flags when it happens. the one exception was just walking out of the starting fight pit after gaining like rank2/3, that just happened once. just simply in the walk animation somewhere, not free run or sprint, spin the camera, and blam, it catches. it's almost like you guys aren't soft culling, and if a player spins the camera along a deep cull path, you overload on the raster count and it just spirals with no watchdog to rescue it. of all the crashes, one was the start fluke, 90% were the walk/camera spin type, and the latest just now... was autosaving after completing mission8 and returning to mualim where it just froze on a white screen. that was a first as well. yay for i/o deadlock? heh |

oops, previous post is on 80GB ps3, brand new.
only other game, motorstorm, doesn't have this issue whatsoever. 6+ hours of playing it consecutively when i got it with no faults. |

I find it hilarious you may have a better idea of whats wrong than the programmers do heheh... I wouldn't expect any further efforts to fix the game. They seem to think the patch fixed everything good enough and haven't made any effort to inform us they are currently doing anything. Quite sad. |
