Signing up as well for this "known failure".
Freezes occasionally on a 80Gb Hong Kong bought PS3 with FW 2.0.
Game disc is brand new of course and the frst 2 freezes occured during the first few hours of gameplay.

Hoping for a quick resolution (IF Ubisoft even read this) to this issue or I as well will have to return this game as my fellow PS3 owners.

I can understand much of everybody's frustration for I am going through the same thing with this game, but I think we are overlooking the fact that Ubisoft is most likely trying their hardest to hunt down this problem we are all facing as we speak. Clear your consciences on this matter for we will not be left in the dark for long since their reputation is at risk with such a mediated title. Not because we haven't recieved news from their behalf yet, means they aren't up to date with the situation, there are posts of this matter all over the web on several game-sites so rest assured that Ubisoft is definately aware. They gave us a chance to buy it, let's give them a chance to fix it...Hating won't solve it...

The goal shouldn't be to hit a certain number of posts within a 3-day timeframe, it's to fix the problem. It's Ubisoft's forum - so they likely are reading this...

I have absolutely no problem taking this thing back - as do most of this forum's 40+ pages of members...

Firmware 2.01 is coming for PS3 within a couple days. Sony's web site promises "increased stability" - whatever that means.

If anyone from Ubisoft is reading this forum -- can you at least update us? Should we be taking these games back? Are you going to patch the problem?

Can someone confirm this ?

I think I just experienced the "White Screen of Death" today. I went back into a different kingdom area from Jerusalem and you know when Altair is transported into the white background before the game finally loads into the wanted area ?

Well, I was moving him around in that screen thinking that would help the game finish loading to the area but after about 4 minutes, it stopped. Then when I tried to quit the game, my console beeped and rebooted.

Looks like I DO have to return the game.

This was in Memory Block 4.

That's another problem with the game. The loading time to another area takes forever it seemed and it made me wonder when the hell it'll finally load. Sometimes it's almost immediate and other times it really kills the fun.

Okay. I thought I was one of those lucky ones who won't experience it but I guess it was just a matter of time.

Actually, originally when the game used up about 2000 MB of storage for the game saves, that made me suspicious too and now I see why it takes so friggin' long to load.

Originally when I continued the game, it left off where I was at yesterday. Then after the WSOD (White Screen Of Death), it threw me back to a previous save. STUPID GAME !

The first post.
Here`s a copy:
We are aware that some consumers are having issues with the PS3 version of the game freezing. We are investigating this issue very seriously and will come back to you with more information as soon as possible. In the meantime, we appreciate the feedback you are providing and welcome any additional information relating to your PS3 and firmware versions as well as details of where the freeze occurs. You can report this information directly to us via the official support channels or in this thread. Please refer to your game manual for details.

The following information is helpful:

- Type of crash:

“hang” (= where the screen is totally frozen)? in this case, was there anything special displayed on screen? (text message, popup window...)

“matrix-like” freeze (where the camera can still be moved)? in this case, did you notice a white popup (tutorial box) beforehand?

- Time played since the game was launched (ie “time elapsed since player started his game session”)?

- Frequency of crashes (if recurring)?

- Firmware version : 1.94 or 2.0?

- Connected to PSN?

- Information board activated? (2.0 only)

the point is Ubisooft, these errors were preventable I hope your not taking our rants harshly but positively. realizing cutting corners is not a good idea especially in the market you are in. With all the prerelease hype over the past year you wouldn't want to release a buggy game!

I do love this game but cannot play it until the freezes and bugs are fixed, its too annoying to restart when you are in the heat of an assassination, it ruins everything Angry
