Hi everyone,
I have just started playing Assassin's Creed after buying it from EBGames last weekend, and installing it and it's all gone well until I've started having a graphical problem whilst in the riding area between the starting town and Damascus. It has never happened before, and has made playing rather difficult, and I haven't tried getting out of this part of the world yet to get into the town I'm supposed to because it's very offputting. I have some information that may help, if you know how to solve this problem: -I am running the game on DX9 version. -I run the game in 800x600 60hz to enhance performance. -I turned my graphics options all up to max and it DID helped alleviate the problem to a good extent, however.. my gameplay runs sluggish with the graphics maxed, and I will not sacrifice performance for a temporary solution. -I would like to note that I do play the game with a NoDVD patch from GCW because I store my CDs in a safe place to avoid scratching. -I have other games with exactly the same minimal requirements, such as Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 which don't suffer from this graphical problem so it's not a graphics card problem. -I am running the game on the 1.0 version. The 1.02 version description didn't state that it fixes a problem like this. Please help, Thanks. |

To post DirectX Diagnostic information do the following. 1. Click Start 2. Click Run (if you are on Vista, click into the 'Search Textfield') 3. Type DXDIAG then press ENTER 4. When the DirectX Diagnostic loads, click the "Save All Information" Button. 5. Save the text file to your desktop 6. Locate the text file on your desktop and double-click the file to open it 7. Click on Edit 8. Click on Select All 9. Click on Edit 10. Click on Copy (make sure all of the text is highlighted when you click Copy) 11. Right-click into the textfield of your forum post and click on Paste |

the graphics issues in the kingdom area of the map is common with low end ATI graphics cards and since it only affects that small selection of cards ATI would most likly have to solve the problem.

Thanks for the replies, Ubi_Warder (your info you need is below) and caswallawn_2k7, here is a screenshot I took of the Kingdom with the graphical settings turned up to max in the Dx9 version executable. The problem is completely gone.. (Lag heavily increased by 50-60% though lol).
 It's interesting how this problem only occurs whilst in lowest graphical settings. Can anyone possibly explain this? when im done with the first part - and finish riding on a horse to Damascus, my grafics TOTALLY crushes. My game dosent "crash" its working fine, I just cant see anything because of some very big sand-colored squares blocking in front of everything. please help

the problem is your graphics card is blow the min requirements and this problem happens with all low end ATI card's, unfortunatly there is no fix but people with this problem have managed to stumble through and find the cities as once you have visited the citites you can skip this part of the game entirly.

Supported Video Cards at Time of Release: ATI RADEON X1300-1950 / HD 2000 / 3000 series NVIDIA GeForce 6600-6800 / 7 / 8 / 9 series I bought the game according to this information.I think Ubisoft and ATi should be helping us on this issue. I've played prince of persia 4 ,tomb raider underworld,mirrors edge,call of duty world at war with this system and I have not experienced any problem.I would like to play this game.What will happen now  |

duno were you got them requirements as they are wrong, the lowest ATI cards on the game box is 1600/1650 but they must be on PCIe.
