Voodooguy, those issues have already been reported higher up, as I already posted a while back, and when we have an answer then it will be posted here. Yelling more about it in all CAPS and red is not going to help, on the contrary, it's irritating and rude. I have told you to stop insulting your fellow forum members and stop picking on specific persons - especially if they are actually trying to help other users. If you have something to discuss with a forum member, do so via PT. This is your final warning.
as i said in the last post, i've tryed the last drivers on the laptop, even though i'm not being using them at the moment...
is fair to say that at the laptop the graphical power is not the best... but it can handle that game well... but in the desktop i can run it with pratically everything at the maximum... so i don't think that this is a hardware problem to that pc... and as i said before... why is so difficult to accept that there may be errors at the kingdom map... i'm a programmer... i know that it can happen despite all planification and blablabla that come before the coding:P
oh... and yes both computers matched the hardware requirements on the installer:P
being able to program and knowing how a games rendering system works are to entirly differant thing. but the problem in kingdom only happens on ATI card that are normaly below the min spec. now considering the back of the box says the min requirement for the game is a ATI x1600 on a PCIe socket your laptop falls short before you even take into account that they say laptop hardware isnt supported.
if this problem was caused entirly by the game it would not be linked to nearly all low end ATI cards.
alswo just to proove the install hardware check doesnt work the min spec is for a AMD 64 X2 3800 but this happend with a AMD 64 X2 5200 that is a much higher chip. link
Edos don't hijack please, it's considered spamming.

Both your PC's are underspec. Both have horrendously outdated drivers, but updating won't make a difference for this game, they stay underspec. So stop complaining, this is the Bugs and Glitches thread.
Btw the ones responsible for bugs in games, applications, detection tools, are... programmers.
This message has been edited. Last edited by: BlindNero,
falling through buildings/terain is normaly caused by having the graphics too high and it looses sync causing the graphics engin to miss place the floor meaning it renders behind you after you have passed were it should be.
I play my version on the PC and the only problem i've had is one "AssassinsCreed_DX9.exe" has encountered a problem and must close" rubbish but i think that was me running heavy background programs.
I haven't bothered to download any patches though, as people have posted about being fine until they installed the patch and i don't want to risk it.

as I told before i had the last drivers installed when i installed the game... after that i'v already formatted the disks and haven't installed the last drivers... (actually i've installed the last ones in the laptop and that's why there is catalyst 8.6... but then a i did a downgrade)...
but that is not why i'm posting now... i'm posting because i finally managed to play the game almost in full settings in the desktop pc, one that BlindNero said is underspec... so thank u very much for your (un)support.
This still is the Bugs and Glitches thread, so you posted your problem in the wrong thread. Your laptop is officially underspec, the X1600 on the edge, good you managed to get the game running by your own efforts though, enjoy the game.
I wish I could get my money back. Simply put the game is buggy and not a very good value. I run Windows AP pro on an AMD dual 4200 with 4GB of RAM (third GB bought in the hope that this problems would go aways with more RAM ...) running nVidia nForce4 with a single 8800GTX card. All the latest drivers installed. Game starts OK, plays 3-7 minutes bfore crashing to desktop. No BSOD or error report, just desktop.
If I had known that game was so buggy, on every platform for which it was released, I would haver waited till it could be bought for $10. ...
Very disapponting, and next time a title from UBI comes out, I will be much more dilligent about verifying quality by reputation.
all i know is AC was running great, i had a lot of fun playing. then comes the patch. now the game constantly crashes, no matter what. thanks UBI for not testing the patch before releasing it to the public. way to screw the loyal consumers in the time of economic hardship. i wouldn't be surprised if you guys have a hard time selling games because of this.
back to the matter at hand. remove the patch for a fast fix. and have the game running as intended. you will also want to disconnect from the internet cause of that stupid auto-patch that UBI is using. game should run perfectly after that, and there is no more need for mass chaos.
to bad UBI is not intelligent enough to do that instead of laughing at us while we suffer.

have your tried posting a DXdiag and asking for help? as I ran this on a very similar PC but it was running XP Pro X64 without problems so I very much doubt it is hardware and most likly drivers or other programs that the game doesnt like due to its security as that is were nearly all problems come from.
I've just bought this game for my 360 & it freezes at different bits but pretty much at the start of the game. I've tried it on a friend's xbox & it freezes too. There's no stratches on the game. None of the buttons work on the controller once the game has froze. Anyone got a fix for it or know where I can get one? Thanks
Hoping this is the right place to post this. I have a fresh install of Vista Home 32-bit. I installed SP1 and all the updates available. I installed the latest drivers for sound, motherboard and graphics. Here are my system specs if it helps: C2D 6420 (running 3.2GHz) Asus P5K-E 2 x 2GB DDR2 800 (running 800MHz) eVGA GeForce GTX 260 Corsair 620HX Asus 20x DVD sata SB Audigy 2
I am dual booting XP and Vista. On XP, the game installed and runs fine in DX9, no issues. However, on my Vista partition, when the game has finished installing, there is no shortcut on the desktop, no Ubisoft folder or Assassin's Creed folder in the start menu. I have to go to my "C:/" drive and open the program files folder, find the Ubisoft folder, etc.. and run the launcher. If I select the standard launcher, it selects DX10......and there is where the problem begins. The program stays in a half cocked window and stutters horribly. IT will not go full screen or run smoothly. If I select the DX9 launcher from the folder, it runs fine. So what I want to know is, why won't the game run in DX10? Why doesn't it install a folder in the start menu or a desktop icon. Any help is greatly appreciated.
try installing the latest directx release from microsoft.com and also make sure you have the newest driver available from nvidia.com as they are new cards and there is a chance the drivers wont run 100%. also if the game runs in a window press alt + enter and it will go full screen.
I tried alt + enter and it does not work. I have the latest drivers from nVidia and latest DX installed. This is a clean install with the latest available drivers and updates. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game and it did not change a thing. I'm truly puzzled ATM.
