Ok the game in many video configs run fast for lets say 3 to barely 10 secs after that performance drop causing sound stutter blah blah, i updated with the patch still does the issue, i wonder why sometimes the game runs like it should be, las night i read something about a bug with 8600 cards,
my specs are
8600gt 1gb vram
2gb ram
320gb samsung sata
sound blaster audigy se(with modded drivers which is now a xfiextreme audio
and a pentium d 2,80

its funny because new ubisoft games are failling for me, vegas 2 cant even play the first mission due to bug that the guys wont talk to you and i got stuck nowhere to go, here the game which seems to be easy job for my specs goes slow down then up then down. gonna try accel down i tested also nvidia latest stock drivers which i had when i first ran he game, same deal there and now with a modded drivers based on a earlier release. guess im gonna bury my machine since everything is new ):

update your drivers at nvidia.com as yours are from october last year and alot of people with complaints are using that driver then fix the problem with the newer none beta drivers.

A couple of other suggestions, other than updating your drivers, you might try is to run a defrag on your hard drive(s), especially the HD that you have the Assassin's Creed game installed along with your main HD if you have more than one.

Lower the game's various graphics settings a bit to see if that helps improve overall performance.

Running the DxDiag tool Run, Start, enter in: dxdiag), and under the "sound" section, put the "Hardware Accelleration" slider to "Basic" level.

Ensure that all other background programs are closed or disabled (anti-viruses, messangers, memory managers, etc..)

Oh yes, you might want to also run a full scan for any viruses, spyware, malware junk that could be lurking unawares. A couple of good, and free, programs for scanning for Spyware and Malware junk is: Spyware Search and Destroy -

1. Like caswallawn said: your drivers are too old. You seem to prefer the Tweakforce.com drivers, but why? Your GF 8600 is a budget card rather than a gaming performer, no matter the fancy "1 GB VRAM". I would advise to first install the official WHQL 175.16 drivers from nVidia, and try the game. If then a modded driver would fail, you'f know the official WHQL drivers would run OK and just revert to that version.

So you claim it is now an X-FI extreme audio? If it were, the drivers are outdated. Updated version on this page But it isn't an X-Fi, so i would recommend to install the Audigy drivers only.

3. Your F:\ drive is a virtual drive created by disc copying/cloning/emulating software. Securom copyprotection does not like that. Dismount the virtual drive and maybe even uninstall the cloning software. Of course, only the legal copy of the game runs trouble-free (on PC's that are well within the requirements).
