I purchased Assassins Creed from PC World in the UK.I checked first with the tech guys if my computer would support it and they qouted"it should play it standing on its head"
My computer is Packard bell Imedia
3gb RAM
Quad Core Processor
32gb hard disk
NVIDIA GEFORCE 7050 Graphics
The intro movie is great but the game when i enter the menus is like in slow motion and when you play the game this is the same.Even the sound sounds slowed down.Mouse activity in the menus is dead slow too.HELP!Have i got a problem or is it my graphics card that is poo??My system rating in Vista says I am a 3 on my graphics but the computer i bought was advertised as suitable for intense gaming.Any suggestions would be greatfully received.
I also downloaded a demo of the new lego indiana jones game and this was similar in performance but slightly faster if this helps....

Your graphics card is 'poo'. I too bought my Assassins Creed from the UK, GAME to be specific. The guy said the game would work on my pc at the time, 2.8ghz P4 with HT, 1gb RAM and a 7600gt graphics card (I did read the minimum spec on the back but just thought I would be ok......). It was about as good as yours by the sound of it. So I went out and bought a new XPS system, just to play Creed..........Crazy eh?

I would say get a new card, especially if you've got Vista, DX10 is subtle (?) but good.
You can get 8600s and 8800s pretty cheap now, I would recommend the ATI 3870 which is fairly cheap aswell. I've never owned an ATI card before, always been an Nvidia man, but that card flys.

Dual Leadtek 8800GT (512MB GDDR3) SLI. Runs well although i did get a few 8800 related issues, but the 175.16 drivers seemed to fix that up. 50 - 80 fps 1680 x 1050 maxed (4xMSAA 8xAF).

This game doesn't run that great for me and I am not sure why. It's playable but I have the graphics on minimum. Maybe it's my graphics card?

AMD Phenom 8400 triple core
3 GB ddr2
Geforce 8500 GT

because the 8600 is a budget graphics card and not made to do it.
