I've searched and searched for this and I really didn't see anything on the subject matter. When loading the game it always freezes or gets kind of hung up for about 25 seconds. This happens whenever I'm starting the game from the menu, loading from the animus, whenever I kill someone, and when Altiar dies. It's extremely frustrating.

How would UNDERCLOCKING my video card help?

Thanks for any and all tips you can give.

Many Geforce cards are factory overclocked by the partners (for instance XFX etc) or have other indirect manipulations on working speeds outside the users control, so you would be thinking it is running at stock because you didn't overclock yourself. Anyway, reducing the memory speed on 8xxx and 9xxx series Geforce cards have been a fix to quite some users on this forum. You can't lose by trying.

Right Oh! However, it's been a long time since I've even looked in the nvidia control panel let alone tinker with it. My display is apparently all messed up in the control panel. I have to highlight the option before I can even read it, makes navigating a little tougher. Where would I go to underclock it?

Also, I just updated my Mobo drivers (noticed its been a while since I updated those), my Realtek drivers, and still it "freezes" for about 20 seconds every time Altair or someone else dies.

So I ended up doing some late spring cleaning and freed up %30.

Did this too. And it still isn't working. I still haven't figured out how to underclock it though, yet.

Never mind. Thanks for your help. It turns out it was the net connection. So by disabling that AC no longer could connect and that is what was causing the problem.

So also in your case that was the culprit!? Odd... I usually save that suggestion for only when other don't fix it...
I can't see a connection between killing someone in the game and the auto-updater crashing the game.

Anyway, you don't have to unplug your network, try renaming Resources:

Try blocking the Updater in your (or Windows-) firewall.
Or, disconnect your Network (Internet) Connection.
Or, just rename the folder "Resources" in the game's directory, by adding an "X", to XResources"... it should put it out of order as well.
I personally haven't had any problem related to the updater. I haven't disabled it and still running 100.1 version of the game.

Also, make sure no unneeded programs are running on the background, email notofications, anti-virus, systemprotection software etc.
