Once upon a time there were Heroes, Heroes everywhere, Now the time has come again for Heroes to rise again. Soldier and Official GUNNUT of THE Alderbranchian Army
This technically falls under both categories as it happens in both games, so I will post it twice.
The Dwarven hero's aura does not show up anymore. I made sure to save it, shut the game down and then reload the game. Didn't work and yes I have it set in the Options so it should appear. All I get is the generic blue aura.
script function SetAIHeroAttractor(objectName, heroName, priority);
If the priority is set to 2 – house is evaluated equally to winning the game. The AI will ignore all dangers for seizing this house.
AI should do everything to conquer the object.
In the following particular case this does not work:
A castle is the hunted object.
- Enemy hero in garrison - AI tries to conquer it even if he will for sure lose the battle.
- Enemy hero is in front of the castle blocking the way to the castle, AI will just sit and watch. (I assume he recalculates his odds against the enemy player first and since it has no constraints for the player he chooses not to fight).
I probably think that the red swirly thing (same animation as gating) was deliberately removed because it looks too 'overdone' and may not look too suitable. Maybe they will come up with simpler animations later.
The Dwarven hero AI doesn't understand how to use the Rune of Etherealness properly. They keep casting it on shooters who are shooting and in no danger of being retaliated against and on units that will clearly destroy the enemy stack in one hit, thus not needing to worry about being retaliated against either.
I installed HoF a day ago. Autoupdated and started playin'. I was doin' the Heaven campaign, everything was flawless but all of a sudden started throwing me on the desktop (NOT crashing). I decided it was a minor problem, no need to report. But when I reached the "Negotiations" mission things got worse. I did what I had to do and spoke with the dwarf and continued. Here's the ugly part - in 2/3 of the battles with DWARVES (Rune Patriarches, Berserkers, Skirmishers) the game crashes. My units move (Griffins, Paladins) but when it's the dwarves turn the cursor turns into a sandwatch and immediately the game crashes. The "Send/Don't Send" stuff appears and that's it. Care to explain?
1) If you click on the "build" button, it takes you to the main town screen and not the build screen.
2) If you sell some resources for money, then click the "recruit" button, you go to the recruit screen, but the money you gained from any/all transactions is not present. You need to exit to the main town screen to have the money show up.
No help... just reports. So I got an update with my problem. I pass the dwarves and follow the road. I get to a point where the snow ends and there is a bit of grass. There are a bunch of Squires who want to join me. No matter what the choice (yes or no) after clicking OK the game crashes. I decided to move on but just after a turn I got to a point where there is no other option but to attack a bunch of conscripts. Same thing like the Squires. They offer to join me and when I click OK - CRASH!!! So at this point I can't do anything with the campaign and I'm stuck waiting for help/patch...
Under the description for the Guard Post building inside the Fortress town, there is a misspelled word. It says aditional when it should read additional.
Oh, we're gonna post typo's now? I could go on for DAYS about misspelled words in Hammers and the original. *sigh* I got spoiled with the NWC versions of heroes....English was their native language. So with Nival, I cut them some slack and just try to get a good laugh out of all the typos. Part of me wanted them to leave in the "not enought movement". :O)
"The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings or endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning."
Sure, technically it isn't a bug, but it sure is unprofessional to have as many typos as they have. Pay me to proofread everything. I'll make sure everything is spelled right.
You know, I actually think that the english version got the lions share of the typos. My guess is that they hired linguists to translate all the text for the European/Asian versions...but they trusted their own knowledge of english to do that version. It shure looks that way. :O)
Fabrice did get my opinion on "some" english translations. Namely the spell names. Some of the original names they had simply didn't translate very well into english. I can't recall now what the old ones were, but they were pretty bad IIRC.
And if I had thought about it...I would've volunteered to proofread the text for free. But I've been so used to playing English-made games that I simply didn't think about needing to translate INTO english. Typical American...assuming that EVERYONE knows english. *grin*

How about using it as a distance indication? Not enough = 1 day Not enought = 2 days Not enoughts = 3 days Not enoughtse = 4 days Not enoughtsel = 5 days Not enoughtselr = 6 days Not enoughtselrk = 7 days Not enoughtselrky = 9 days

The rune of resurrection doesn't seem to work in the eu version, at least in duel mode. I'll check if that also happens on regular games too but I've heard of someone who couldn't activate it no matter what. He also had the eu version.
