Hi, I have purchased the original (first release) Heroes V game (it says year 2006 on the back) and also I have a brand new HP PC with a quad core processor and Windows 64 bit Home premium.
When I start the installation process with the first CD, right when it goes to 4% it brings the message
" Component: English
File Group: [any,en-GB] audioVisuals
File: E:\data2.cab
Error: Data error (cyrilic redundancy check)."
and an option to press the "OK" button which closes the install.
I cannot install the game!
Obviously there is an error, but why?
Is it because I have a 64 bit system and the game is not compatible?
Can you please help me?

Might be the 64bit, although i can't be sure, have vista 32 myself and i am having no problems, have you tried installing in compatability mode ?

I don't know how to help you, all I can tell you is that I run Vista 64 bit and it works fine. As fine as the original Homm V worked, of course. Have you tried searching the technical forum? Otherwise, you could try buying ToE, it definately has less errors.

It happened that my CD1 has a spot.
All I did is washed carefully (in sink with soap), let it dry, and then tried again and it worked.
I already installed the game and some patches.
What is the latest patch? And where can I download all the available patches?

A. For H5 the best option is to install patch 4 which includes all correction made in the previous patches. It also adds a ˜check for updates' button to the start menu of Heroes. If you click that it checks for update and installs any patches that came out after patch 4. (You might have to check for several times since it might install a patch one at a time, I don't know for sure.)

Otherwise the patches, including the old ones, can be found (amongst other places) at the following sites. My personal suggestion would be FileFront and Celestial Heavens. This because the patches are the easiest to find there, while at the other places you have to hunt to find them.

I recently rebuilt my computer and installed Vista, and now I'm trying to install HOMM5, but for some reason its not working; the installer hangs at 0% progress indefinately. Anyone know why this is happening and how to get around it?

I have the 4 CD package for HOMM5 and Vista 64-bit if those matter

Hey, I bought Heroes V a little while ago and installed it, no problem there, even though I have Vista. I tryed many times to log on to ubi.com but the game crashes, so I thought maybe if I get the patches it'll fix itself, but when I try to open the patches, an error message pops-up saying that Heroes of Might and Magic V is not installed.

I did try moving the patch into my Ubisoft and Heroes V folder but nothing did it. Anyone can help ?
