What an extremely long wait. Am I wasting my time waiting for a patch that allows propper widescreen support and windowed mode? I heard it was on it's way but delayed so the asian patch can be released at the same time.

Any update?

I have a 19-inch widescreen, and the game's options do offer the correct widescreen resolution for my specific monitor : 1440 X 900. Gorgeous!

As it stands, the 1680x1050 resolution is simply stretched lengthways to fill the pixels, others of the widescreen format that I tried do the same thing, that isn't true widescreen support.

I'd already read from someone who said with a fair amount of certainty (tho I forget if it was this forum or AOH) that both options would be in 3.1 I'm just losing faith that there will ever be a 3.1.

You are probably right to state that it is artificial stretching, not true widescreen support.

In my case, my 19-inch monitor's native resolution is 1440 X 900, and the game looks great at that rez. The stretching is not that obvious, for me. But if I play at a lower rez, the game doesn't look as good.

You are possibly right concerning patch 3.1 : I haven't heard a lot about it.

I don't know why Ubisoft has delayed its release. It is perhaps because of a lack of financial resources. Nival Interactive's beta-patch 3.1 has to be tested and has to be produced for different editions of the game : that costs money.

I believe Ubisoft has moved on to other HM&M projects (Kingdoms & Heroes 6). Version 3.0 is quite playable as it is : they possibly don't see the financial interest in pouring more money into it. And there's a risk to avoid : if they release a premature, buggy patch 3.1, they risk hurting version 3.0's decent state (in single-player or hot-seat mode).

Those are my personal suppositions. I do not have any contact within Ubisoft.
