I generated a map with RMG (Tribes of the east expansion), and then tried to edit it to split the players in 2 teams (how retarded is it that I cannot do that in game start options?).
So I went to the map editor:
View->Map Properties->Teams
Whatever I do there is not saved correctly (it randomly rearanges the team/player grid).

Is anyone else seeing this on Vista? Any help?

I have run into this same issue. I am also running vista. The map team properties will not save!

It's insane that this was posted first in november 2007 and there still hasn't been a fix for this. I think that's just poor style from a game developer.

I don't think they are planning any more patches. Look at the average time it took to release a patch before and how long it's been now. I think they decided they got all the money they can get from Heroes V fans and the game is playable enough so they are probably working on something else now. This is the last game I'm buying from Nival. Such a buggy game... pathetic.

The latest 3.1 patch didn't fix this... This is pathetic. I can't do a basic thing - set teams on a map.
Both Vista and HOMM V have been out for 2 years and they could fix a basic thing. I'm not going to waste my money again on a Heroes game. Disciples III looks to be pretty good anyway

ya this is so dumb. I used to play heros 3 all the time with my friends and now i can't make teams. I really hope they decide to fix it because it's an awsome game otherwise

okay guys this is REALLY messed up. about 2 weeks ago i was editing my maps by TOE map editor ( maps were obviously created with TOE map generator provided by the game ) i was able to put some artifacts and monsters in the game and they worked fine. for some weird reason i've been trying to do the same thing for past 6-7 hrs and it WON'T save at all. regardless of what changes i make in the map editor it DOES NOT save. i know u guys r talking about having problem with the team edit thing. but any of u having same problem as me with artifacts and monsters ? or if its working for any of u plz let me know how to do fix this dam thing

Looking for fix to map editor in Vista 32.
Installed and running HMM5 gold edition pack ok.
Unable to create a new map of any kind and get message that not authorised to save file but i am an administrator account. HOMM or vista setup issue? thx for any help posted.

i have tribes of the east on vista and whenever i try to edit a map, i go to open a map and there are no files to open..where the hell are they?!!
