i put in the first disc and it begins to install. it doesn't even ask for disc 2 and goes on to disc3 then 4.
once installed, i double click the icon and the time sand thing appears for a few seconds and leaves. my desktop remains the same with no change.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and i just cant figure it out. heroes 3 and 4 work perfectly fine on the same computer.

no kind of error comes or anything. just sits there like i never did anything.

anyone have any suggestions on how to get the game to work?

alright, ive tried cleaning it all up and defragging it all the way until i have 0 files. after each defrag/clean up id reboot and do it again.
i then re installed HoMMV and after the installation again the same problem. the game wont even load. it acts as if i never even clicked the icon.

i can play HoMM 1-4, Age of Empires 3 and the expansion. World of warcraft without troubles.

one think i noted i have windows xp 2002. and the game says only 2000. but i dont see why i wouldnt be able to play cuz of that.

anyone have xp higher than 2000 and can play?

Im not sure what you mean by Xp 2002.
I have XP Pro SP3 and HoMMV runs on my PC.
If I find anything Ill come back and post it here for you.

All you have to do is update it with patches. For some reason the US CD version doesn't work until you patch it. Even just the first patch makes it work but of course it's better with all of them.
