When I tried to download and play the game I saw first screen then monitor start blinking...

The thing with laptop cards i think it's a little different. The mx had that code that blocked the game from running on them. I dunno if it's the same for laptop video cards but unless you know 16-bit hex edititing to find what needs to be modified, you'll have to wait for Nival to decide to include your video card .

hmm. Now I remember that when I played Settlers V game worked fine, but when I bought newest expansion disk I had this same problem what now... I must check the diffrence beetwen those files (settlers5.exe..)..

Yeah, even taking into account that Nival is russian company i completely agree with you because they made a product of very low quality.

It worked for me although my graphics card is way under specs (Radeon 7500 32 MB)

The game must be playable on your system. Mine has lower specs and the game can be played.

I have SP 2, the newest direct x, and the newest drivers for my graphics card installed. If you have done the same on your system and the game is not running try switching off any virtual drive program (like daemon tools or alcohol 120) on your system.

Phabryssius it will work but i strongly recomend the game isn't played on anything lower then a 6600. IT SPOILS THE FUN!!

Hi just want to make sure this thread is about the final game and not the demo. I tried editing with hex in demo and it worked. Didnt buy final retail game yet, but will as soon as i can find some conformation that it will work on geforce 4 go 440.

the demo in my case worked both for multi and single player after the hex change.

i have been trying for ages to get the game to work and i have even tried to use that file that was left on here. i even tried to change the code with hex editor but it wouldnt find that code. i need help in order to make my game work. i am using the full game not the demo

P.S.: it seems that changing the saving/loading path that are hard-coded in the .exe would do the trick, to put them in the game directory for exemple.

This post on this thread refers to THE FINAL GAME. IF IT WORKED FOR DEMO YOU CAN USE THE EXE dentist_1 PROVIDED TO WORK FOR FINAL VERSION.(There are 2 different exe's, one for demo and one final). If you read the thread you will figure it out.

hello dentist_1 i am having a problem with my video card. I have a NVIDA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 video card. I tried altering the lines to the H5_game.exe but i could not find them with your text editor. then i downloaded the version you had a link too and my winzip would not unzip it. so i do not know what to do now it says it was not archived. Am I supposed to open it with your line editor and save as a .exe?
