TOTE randomly locks my computer. Sometimes it locks up after playing 5 minutes, sometimes after playing a couple of hours. I have to hit the reset button to restart my computer. After this happens, when I try to load the last autosave, TOTE crashes to the desktop. Yay, I always wanted to be a beta-tester.

Errors from Spain (HeroesHispano.com ):
The new grifons allways stand in ther original spot after flying, even if that spot is now occupied by another unit: Floating Artifacts after hero leaving battle: The Imperial Grifons, if ordered to attack where they where before flying, they kill themselves after dropping, and if a new unit is in that place, they only damages themselves: (Replay here: Grifosadomaso.sav). If a group of new neutrals appears at the beginning of a new week near a caravan from an outpost to a city, the caravan gets stuck. If you go to pick your units the cursor is normal, not a red one, but you'll have to battle the neutrals to pick the units. The cursor should be red to inform you of this fact. The well known error with warlocks habilities and the new spells (they have an erroneous effect when empowered or affected by warlocks' luck). The Dark Elves with invisibility show their numbers to the enemy when moving. If a Ciclops eats or launch (I don't remember well) the last goblin in a group, instead of a corps we see the goblin iddle animation in its place (however, like any dead stack, we can cros throught it). The specialization of the Goblin King hero of the Orcs doesn't work like the description says. The Mines, the Arcane Cristal and the Wall of Blades doesn't interact well with ethereal units or magical inmune units, probable also with magic protection/resistance. The Vampirism Spell it's suposed to give the Undead feat to the unit to which it's casted, but the unit doesn't respond like an undead to all the spells: it loses some curses and become inmune to them, loses other curses but can be recursed again and other curses are absolutely not affected (and they should). This is because it appers that the Undead feat doesn't include the inmune to mind and similar feats that have every Undead, or perhaps it's implemented in an extrange way, not object oriented... The Demon Full Artifact Set Bonus isn't added to the total bonus to the racial of the Demons, some times it doesn't do nothing if the bonuses earned by other means are higher than the bonus that gives the full artifact set itshelf. (http://www.heroesv.es/showthread.php?t=2657) The new Marc of the Necromancer only adds one of the mana after reciving 75 of damage (additive), with no minimun of 1, I don't know if this is intended. The Dragon Form Rune doubles the BASE statistics of the unit, not the full ones (base plus mods). The manual example is erroneous (the description is fine). However, I don't know if this is intended. The Guardian Angel resurreccts only visible stacks of dead units (it doesn't say nothing about it) and it clears every effect on the unit EXCEPT the maximun health loss by animate dead/resurrection spells. The descripcion of this feat should be more complete. Force Arrow, from the Arcane Archers, also makes the sucubus unnable to counterattack when it's triggered. I don't know if this is intended. Valor Aura gives adyacent units the same capacity as the Minotaur Kings (Bravery), not a +1 to moral like it says. It fixes the moral minimun to +1. The feat description should be fixed. The description of Master of Curses is erroneous (in spanish version at less). It says Vulnerability instead of Suffering, which is the spell actually affected by this hability, not Vulnerability. Also, they should fix the fan manual, some errors and info missing (like the Red Eye Ciclops attack that affect two tiles and the description of Acid Breath). The new imps suck 0.125 of mana by imp, not 0.5. Excuse my english erros. I translated this at hurry. |

A bug with the Sphinx:
One of the questions the Sphinx can spawn with is 'What makes Nur unique among the Academy heroes?' The three answers available are
Since Jhora is female and Galib is a Djinni, neither of those could be true. Trying the other option, that she has no magic, brings you to the 'mirror army' fight that happens when you answer incorrectly. Therefore, even though presumably one of these answers has been marked as the right one, unless Nur is very young despite her description saying nothing of this, they are all false. (and this would also make this question a trick question) |

hey, I am having the same problem. It won't let me attack the last town and if I stay on the spot right next to the town and end my turn, it crashes during orange's turn. Orange always tries to buy a hero and place him in that spot and I think that's why it crashes during his turn if I stand on that spot =( When I stand another 1 space behind that spot adjacent to the last castle, it does not crash.

I had some problems with this game and after asking around I've come to realize that there is a bug in the game that in certain situations causes it to crash.

After the last battle in Mission 4 (Beast and Bones)I get the mission completed screen. When I select Close to move to next mission, it kicks me back to the campaign menu window. It doesn't "activate" the next mission. It also deselects Mission 4 - Beast and Bones, the one I just completed.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions? |

First mission of first campaign the game locks up when a specific haven hero and location in the northwest are revealed. It shows completion of computer turn and full movement for hero...but the mouse icon is still a hourglass and nothing can be activated or accessed. Cannot move hero etc. Screen doesn't move for scrolling.

diggins_mcgraw - I have exactly the same problem with the game freezing at that point. I've been trying the ubisoft support route, but to this point they have been only marginally helpful.
I've tried different video drivers, different mobo settings, turning off all extraneous drivers and applications, reinstalling game, updated my BIOS version, etc. I even installed the game on my old computer which I had played the first two HOMM V installments on flawlessly (I built my new rig 2 months ago and originally installed TOTE on it. No matter which computer or saved game I play on or use I get the same result. Has anyone else had this freezing issue that diggins_mcgraw and I have? It sure seems like a bug issue to me and not an issue with my hardware/software, as I play all other games flawlessly thus far. I'm hoping for a patch sometime in the near future, but is that a futile hope? |

I am having the EXACT same problem. I just stopped playing because I'm so frustrated that I can find no info if this bug has been corrected.!!

The only bug i've really found that is REALLY annoying is that the game will occasionally lose all textures. ill be playing a custom game and click on a town to enter it and all the textures are gone and it looks like an atari game. Does it every single game sometimes 1 minute in, other times 2 hours in. very random, very frustrating.

Well, I can confirm 1 bug: that the computer won't run away when you're near. Im not patient enough to wait for him to run away and see how many turns it owuld take. But yes, they don't run away :s
Another thing I've noticed is this: When playing over LAN with another player and some computer players, and you're making progress, the computer players are taking forever to complete their turn. All creature animations stop, game gets slow and nearly locks. Then, after about 1 minute it start again, slowly finishing their turn. But then there's 2 other computer players doing the same :| When I can see such a player doing it, it's really weird. I see them walking, and slowly they're walking slower and slower, like described above. They're not near a building, just walking around. Then suddenly it finishing the movement points and all is fine :s It's a downloaded map, but I can't imagine that's the problem. |

I keep arriving at the second city only to run into the teal player who no matter how hard I try is rated as challenging. He then proceeds to kick my butt is there a way to beat this guy. |

help...
on the first campaign (a murder of crows) my game is stuck in the second month of week 3. in this week a short vid is shown of a knight revealing a place of orc slaves. this vid takes about 1 second and then it returns to your hero. however the game is showing the waiting icon the whole time and all i can do is shutting down the game. all other mouse/keyboard clicks won't work. I have just bought this game, and the campaign is the main of the whole game, help me please. |
