I purchased This game around 2 years ago from Direct2drive, I bought a new computer..and just never got around to loading it back up until yesterday, I have the serial number and such for both Heroes of Might and magic 5 and Hammers of Fate

The problem comes when Activating, Upon startup the activation screen comes up..I input my serial key..and it goes through or attempts to..
Every time it comes up with "Activation FAILED: unknown error" Direct2drive directs me to ubisoft support..which is having problems it seems because I cannot submit a question. It states the website is experiencing unknown errors or something similar.

Any Help on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, I have halfway resolved the issue. The issue is with SecuRom. the 1.6 patch for Heroes of Might and Magic 5 removes this restriction..So simply updating it fully will remove the need for activation. However, Hammers of Fate is still unplayable due to this, I updated it, And tried activating again to no avail.

Does anyone know what I could do to resolve this..as the Support page on Ubisoft seems non-functioning when it comes to "Ask a Question" And the information regarding this problem is all but non-existant.

Can anyone offer help or direction on this?
