I also tried yoduss solution, but I changed the user.cfg in my "my games"-folder at first. This fixed it at first but soon it reverted. Then I changed the user.cfg in the game map (in program files or wherever it's installed) that was under the profiles\default_profile.

And now it works for me.

Hmm...actually it reverts every time I make an ingame adjustment...But if I don't poke around it works. I actually edited the user.cfg in the program map to include all graphic and game settings I wanted and made a copy, for future installations.

If it reverts, just delete the user.cfg in the "my games"-folder and start up the game.

A tip is, use the tweaker described above, edit the settings (be sure to set the mip value to 1), then copy the user.cfg file from the "my games"- folder to the program folder, default_profile and replace the file there.

Hope it works for somone else Smile

Ok, it doesn't seem to work, it reverts when I go to the city view. I hate this. First a securom error that made med rebuy it on steam to be able to run it with the latest patch (there was no "no dvd" for 1.06) and now this. I hate this game Frown

LOL, and people wonder why PC games have never really caught on like their console brethren. Imagine if AT&T expected all of their customers to understand how HSPA differs from WCDMA or LTE when troubleshooting problems?

If you're going to be a condescending douchebag, take it somewhere people aren't trying to actually solve problems.

Found a fix that seems to have worked in my situation (GTX 280 in Vista 32).

Open the user.cfg file (in Vista, this is located in c:\users\[user name]\Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V\profiles\[profile name]) and look for the line that says "setvar gfx_texture_mip = 0". Change the "0" to a "1". Hope it works for others.

Hmmm, first you reply to an 18 month old post purely to attack and flame someone, you then make a second post questioning my moderation, when 18 months ago I wasn't a moderator, and then you make a third post claiming to have found a fix, when the fix you claim to have found was already posted by yoduss in this same thread 8 months ago.

Not making a very good start here are you? Roll Eyes

btw, you also triple posted, next time use the edit button and keep it in one post please. Indifferent

Yes, I was dredging up something from quite a while ago, and probably should have left it alone. It's incredibly frustrating, after spending my money on a game, to find condescending "community site" trolls as the respondents to sincere requests for help.

I suppose it's my own fault for expecting actual help from a community site rather than post style nitpicking and oneupsmanship. Won't happen again.

This does not fix my problem even after setting the user.cfg to read only. I have a GTX 260 running on Vista 32. Does anyone know what the fix may be?
