I have all the expansions with Heroes V. In fact, I have all of the Heroes of Might and Magic 1-5 plus any expansions. Heroes of Might and Magic was the very first computer game on which I got "addicted!" LOL HOMM3 is still by far my favorite though HOMMV runs a close second. I take very good care of my disks which brings me to my problem.

During installation it hangs when it gets to the end of the data4.cab file and then gives me an error about cyclic redundancy.

2x2 GB Mushkin High Performance 1066 Ram
2x BFG 8600 GTSOC set as SLI
SATA DVD-RW
5x hard drives varying from 250GB-300GB
Windows Vista Ultimate X64

Up until last week I had a multiboot system including XP Pro X64 which I have just reformatted and stayed with Vista.

My disk worked fine the last time I installed which was about 6 months ago where after this particular disk in question spent its time safely stored in its box.

The only real differences in my setup of then and now is the removal of multiboot and replaced my IDE DVD-RW with SATA DVD-RW.

Taking HOMMV to my nephews house to see if it was my system, I got the same error upon putting in the disk with Data4.cab

It stands to reason the disk somehow got corrupted. Is there any place I might download just the Data4.cab file for the US version or how would I go about exchanging my damaged disk?

Dude, i got the same issue. I Just bought the game today matter of fact i gotta HP brand new computer Vista etc,

and it wont go past 60% on the installation

when i put the disc 3 it kinda shuts down... and doesn't continue spinning (or working) and gives me the same exact error..

Can't believe no one responded to this issue

I just bought the game and it says that "Setup could not find a file on the specified path or disk. Please check that the proper disk in inserted or specify a new path." This happens as soon as I load up the file from disk 3.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

The version I bought says Windows 2000/XP only and I have Vista. Is there anyway around this? Again, any help appreciated. Thanks!
