Hey Guys,

I installed Heroes of Might and Magic 5 today and attempted to install Patch 1.1. When I did attempt it, I got the message "Heroes of Might and Magic 5 is not installed. Patch cannot be applied" I attempted to install it 5 - 6 times to no avail.

So I downloaded the 1.4 patch to try it instead (it stated you did not need prior patches to install 1.4) I attempted it 6 times and got the same "Heroes is not installed" message each time.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled heroes of might and magic 5 several times now in an attempt to fix the problem but it just wont work. What is the problem ><

It sounds as though you're trying to install the patch for the wrong version of the game, there are different patches for the various countries and also the standard or collectors editions.
Look here for the right version of the patches for your game:

The first patch added an updater to the game, so if you wish, that could be used for getting the correct later patches.

Hey im having the exact same problem. I went into the index as well but i dont know which patch im supposed to download, how do i find out witch on is for me?
