Online key/ crashing/ updating/ registering/ help......basically a huge cry for help!|

Before I begin this post let me start off by telling you that I am computer illiterate. Completely......basically I need a step by step walkthrough just to find solitaire on my dam CPU.
With that being said I have several problems. 1- ONLINE KEY I bought the game, installed the game (on a Vista CPU), played the game up until "The Siege" scenario in the first campaign. I registered the game online and DLed all the patches and recieved a confirmation email, but no online key?? Where do I get this key? Oh and for the record, at no time in my installation process or registration process did it ask for my CD key.....Store bought game BTW. 2.- CRASHING Like I said above, I got to the end of "The Siege" scenario. I beat the demon dude running around, then BOOM! the game boots me out and says "Windows has encountered an error" and I have the option to "End Program Now" and that is it. Whats the deal with that??!!?? 3.- UPDATING So there is a "Check for updates button". I didnt know this, I manually uploaded and installed every patch to bring my game up to Version 1.06. The game still crashes. Should I uninstall the entire game and try re-installing with using the "Check for updates" or should I take the CD out of the computer, grab the lighter fluid, walk into the yard, burn the CD, and pee on the ashes? With how frustrating this game has been thus far, I find the second option more viable. 4.- REGISTERING At no time ever has this game ever asked me to input the CD key. Thats odd....first game ever to have that happen. Anyways, I installed the game and clicked the "Register key" filled out a bit of info about myself and recieved an email back.....Is that it? Sorry for my skepticism but that seems just a bit to simple for this game.......I feel the need to download 76.5 more patches or something.... 5.- SUPPORT Does this company have any type of working support or is Ubisoft support as mythical as the creatures featured in the game? Just curious, because I feel like I have a better chance of dialing a random number on the phone and speaking to real live Gargoyle or Lich. 6.- BACHELOR'S DEGREE Just curious on what colleges you guys attended to recieve you Heroes of Might and Magic Bachelors Degree? Sorry for the sarcasm, but it seems like I need some sort of degree just to properly work this d@mn game. -I rate this game a 9/10 when it is working because it is very entertaining. But if I worked for IGN or some type of gaming magazine I would rate this game -243/10 just because of all the troubleshooting issues and lack of support. I know you guys do a fair amount here without getting paid or even praised in some cases, but customer support and service should not be left up to the community. Anyways thanks for listening to my rantings, whinings and problems and I very much appreciate any help you guys can give, if any at all. -Poveglia |
