Try making the white background transparent before you paste it. Smile

Your getting better at it I see. Thumbs Up

Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way home, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV.

or, create your own flames, using the pen tool.
Red Line with orange fill.

Copy the flame, paste it on a new with transparent background, and then use the scissors thing to cut a outline and then click on teh flames and then make another new, transparent and then past, and then fix up that P-38 and then select teh flame and go to layer, transparency, and then select color to alpha.

I presume you are using either GIMP, Photoshop or some other program that can cope with layers?

If so I highly recommend going through a few tutorials to understand the basics.

This pinned topic has Lots of useful links: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/foru...5410763/m/4681064666

and the Knowledge base over at Mission4today.com has a lot of skinning:

No worries mate, skinning takes a while to get into not only to make the aircraft look good but also to learn to use the tools at your disposal.
Just keep at it, save regularly and don;t be scared to make mistakes - nothing is perfect first time

With your skin, convert it to a .GIF file using GIMP when your done, and then open that .GIF file with paint, then convert it into a BMP 256 colors file. Smile

or just index the file to 256 bitmap to save messing about exported and converting over adn over, both GIMP and Photoshop can do this easily.

Check the file overall, it coudl be a case you have grey scaled the entire thing and not just the layer.
Eithe way the cropping i nthat second one is getting close to flames, just need to get the colour sorted and do some cleanups etc.

I'll second this. There's lots of tutorials on the web for making flame effects for Photoshop, GIMP or PSP. I wouldn't try it copy/paste.

Flames done with the pen tool, using several layers, saved as a .png to maintain transparency, perhaps a little on the busy side.
Could be much simpler.

Applied to the Ki-63;

Using the one set of flames, duplicating and reversing them.

New trend no,coming back I hope so. wavy Flag Flame paint jobs aren't really my cup o tea but a pleasure to see when done right. I prefer something more traditional. But what would look cooler on an American War Plane????
Thank you for the compliment.
I am still working on it. The copy paste crop paste cut anchor save thing.
