Hello to all.
Here's my version of Kawasaki Army Type 3 Fighter Ki-61-I "Hien" Tei (D) s/n 4424 flown by Captain Teruhiko Kobayashi, 244th Hikousentai Commander, February, 1945:

Teruhiko Kobayashi became the youngest (just 24 y.o.) Sentai CO in all IJAAF and one of the most resultative fighters in Japan Air Defence regiments... This Sentai pilots were most famous for their numerous rammming attacks...
He surveyed the war, but died on July, 4th, 1957 during accident while training flight at T-33...

I know that some sources claim the fuselage line was red, indicating the Sentai CO's plane, but I decided to make it "Deep Blue" exactly as at the profiles from two Ki-61 PDF books I have...

Special thanks to Jesters-Ink for his original template.

This work is for Peter "Poltava", as a tribute to his "Raging Eagles"
IJAAF Campaign I adore...

The file is either here (Fl.-L):
http://www.flying-legends.net/php/downloads/download.php?id=6816
Or here (M4T):
http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads2&file=details&id=3661

*Unmarked skin is also included.

Hope you'll like it.

My best wishes,
Mangas.

Wonderful work indeed! One of the best Ki-61 skins I've seen! Feel tempted to make a special campaign just to use it...

All the best

Nice Hien Smile

"Controversially, Pierce's final Zeke kill on this month took the form of Tom McGuire's seemingly indestructible fifth victim, the former having watched growing impatience as the major, and several other P-38 pilots in his formation, made futile attempts at downing the Japanese fighter. With a sure hand, he deftly dropped down on the unfortunate Zeke from a superior altitude, slotted in behind it, and promptly shot it down with a single burst! Pierce shrugged off the personal invective levelled at him over the airwaves by a rather peeved McGuire, who accused him of being 'a thieving interlooper'."

Hello, mates.

Meet my variant of famous Supermarine Spitfire PR MkXI USAAF code "PA 842" S/N 4989
operated from Mount Farm, Oxfordshire, March, 1945.
This a/c was built at Chattis Hill. It was powered by a Merlin 63 engine. First flight performed in October, 1943.
Assigned to Benson at November 5th, 1943...
Transfered to 7th PG/14th PS, USAAF, in November, 1943...
Returned to Heston Aircraft Ltd in December, 1945. Sold at August, 22th, 1947:

Elements of MkVIII template by Jesters-Ink was used! Internals -- by F-B-S (with a few (main wheels, Prop blade, Stencils) by me)...

*Unmarked skin is also included...

Get the file either here (Fl.-L.):
http://www.flying-legends.net/php/downloads/download.ph...MkXI%20of%207th%20FG
Or here (M4T):
http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads2&file=details&id=3820

During work I came to a conclusion that makin' proper "baremetal" stuff is, perhaps, the most difficult issue withing skinning (besides authentic weathering effects...) That's why we adore F-B-S's ...

So, this is, perhaps, my best "baremetal" work up to now... My personal thx to eirinn & jarink for supplied info...

P.S.: my "MkVIII" SkinPack is coming next... Wink

Enjoy!

My best wishes,
Mangas.

Gah!

I WANT that metal effect! I want to copy it, back-engineer it, dissect it, examine it ... probe it!

Great work!

Another favourite! Smile

"Once (I think it was 31st aug. 1940), I was in a fight with four Hurricanes over Dover.
I was back over the channel when I saw another Hurricane coming from Calais, trailing white smoke, obviously in a bad way.
I flew up alongside him and escorted him all the way to England and waved goodbye.
A few weeks later the same thing happened to me.
That would never have happened in Russia - never". (Erich Rudorffer - 109 pilot)

Good day to all.
Still sitting jobless (does anybody know bosses who need 2D artists/texturers for game dev job? If yes - please PM me, it's very important!) but never give up, just opposite -- took advantage of the situation... I must confess I become more & more addicted to JA planes (who knows -- maybe I was a Japanese in my previous life... Googly ). I fell in love with Zeros right after PF came out... So, inspired by "Tora! Tora! Tora!" movie, I made a few skins, representing some of these that took part in the Pearl Harbor Attack:
1. Mitsubishi A6M2-21 code "AI-155", Akagi carrier based, piloted by Lt. Commander Shigeru Itaya, 2nd Squadron - 1st Section - Aircraft #1
December 7, 1941.
2. Mitsubishi A6M2-21 code "BII-120", Hiryu carrier based, piloted by NAP1/C Shigenori Nishikaichi 4th Squadron - 12th Section, December 7, 1941.
3. Mitsubishi A6M2-21 code "AII-121", Kaga carrier based, piloted by Lt. Yasushi Nikado
December 7, 1941.
4. Mitsubishi A6M2-21 code "BII-140", Hiryu carrier based, piloted by Sumio Nouno, Pearl Harbor Attack, December 7, 1941:

Not much weathering/paint chipping was done since the planes hadn't been in service long yet...
New template with all brand new correct Tech Stencils, a few simulated details (fuel tanks lock, wing balancers, aileron control mechanisms e.t.c) + new reworked cokpit and all new detailed internal details/mechanisms set...

P.S.: for those who use mods, I strongly recommend to use these skins with this my new mod that corrects default grey drop fuel tanks into right IJN Hairyokushoku coloured:
http://www.allaircraftarcade.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4206

Special thanks to:
1. Jesters-Ink -- a few elements (black cowling, lines & rivets) from his template I used during the work;
2. BLOWHARD -- for answering my questions about the "right" IJN colours...
3. People who maintain www.j-aircraft.com -- a fine site and a "must-have" for all skinners...

I must confess I adore to play IJA/IJN Campaigns...
I dedicate this work to all IJA/IJN fighter pilots, who, though overwhelmed and doomed, fought fearlessly:

Get the skins either here (Fl.-L):
http://www.flying-legends.net/php/downloads/download.ph...20Attackers_SkinPack
Or here (M4T):
http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads2&file=details&id=3935

*P.S.2: Unmarked versions (+ couple of marked but no code skins -- for onliners -- are also included).
More Zeros (other models, dark green coloured e.t.c) are to come in the future...

Enjoy and happy flights!

My best wishes,
Mangas.
