I made a skin of Joedebelle flown by Joseph Elsberry. The real one was a P-51C but I made it on a D. (just for my personal use unless anyone wants it.) but there wasnt the pilot markings, kill markings or any tail numbers on any of the profiles i found. were there tail numbers on the real one? i cant find any info.

From what I've seen, the serials were always painted over on the Redtails' P-51s.

Why not make a B/C skin?

Is there a good P-51B/C template you could recomend? Or maybe ill just find a blank metal skin and try it out myself since i still have the layers.

I'm pretty certain that the red nose should wrap all the way around to the top. I'd also line up the tail markings with the panel line going around the horizontal stabs.

I wasnt sure about the nose. But itll be easy to fix. And I can do the tail thing too, but I didnt know which looked better. It looks more rough this way, but ill make a different version with the things you mentioned.

Do you think I should release it?

And what do you think about Cookie? I know the tail numbers are messed up, i dont plan on fixing it. Im just curious

Ok, made the fixes already. It looks good in my opinion. Anyone want it? Would it be worth putting on M4T?

Not a bad skin.. especially for an early attempt.. however you need to work on the nose and the anti glare shield.. That was a plane from the 301st.. the red nose on the cowl went all the way around unimpeded by the anti glare.. and the anti glare was more tapered towards the top of the nose on most Mustangs of the period. Oh I see Jarink already said that.. Also.. since you asked for a critique.. the font is a bit off. I have always tried to get the fonts right when I do historic skins.. and sometimes I just wind up scanning a picture and fixing it up because the fonts are just too hard to get right.. That's what I did when I made my version of Jodebelle.. There are several good ones out there though..



Oh one more thing.. the trim tabs on the 30st aircraft were black... The 302nd were yellow, the 99th were blue and the 100th were white..

Yessir bearcat. Thats all done. It looks fine with those little improvements. Anything else besides the nose work? And the tail paint that i did that Jarink told me about? Ill put it on M4T if anyone wants it.
