Wonderful job... And promised to a great future. But for that reason, would you mind if I corrected 2 little mistakes ?

No goof at all, on the contrary I think we have THE "next generation" template... Simply, two 'classic' little mistakes

- On the P51 B and C models, the central plate under the engine was a single, U-shaped one (see the pic). Your panel line, in that case, corresponds to the D models... But not your fault, the mistake was in the void.

- The red, 'no step' band was only applied on the left wing.

As you can see, no big deal, and I keep thinking your mustang template is a pure beauty... bow

Ah, yes I noticed the difference after I reworked that seam for the third time. At which point I just kind of let it go. Smash

I wasn't sure about the "no-step" band. I'll remedy that on future ones too. Thanks for the eagle-eyes. Thumbs Up

Wow, incredible work, R_Target! That 19 sqn bird is perfect for an April/May '44 example. The 316 skin is *beautiful* as well, but 316 didn't apply the red/white noseband until March of '45, by which time invasion stripes were long gone and the Type B upper wing roundel was replaced by the Type C incorporating the white band. Regardless, those are some gorgeous skins!

Thanks for the info, wasn't sure about that. Would the white ETO nose band be appropriate for summer '44?

Yes, the white nose band was standard for 316 during summer '44. Is there a chance you'll do a March '45 version with Type C upper-wing roundel? Again, excellent work!

Yeah, I could probably do that. Is it a straight tri-color "C" or a "C.1" with the yellow surround?

Haven't forgotten, just got a little side-tracked. Sometimes when you get on a hot streak, you gotta roll with it. Thanks for the Mustang article. Thumbs Up

Just a plane Type C without the yellow. The yellow surround was a 2nd TAF thing and by 1945 all the RAF Merlin Mustang sqn's were assigned to ADGB/Fighter Command.

Thanks for taking the time to do that, it looks phenomenal!

OK, one more question. Would the Type "C" roundels be the same size as the lower wing ones, or as big as the previous Type"B"?

Smaller:
