Hey Shooter-
The min/max pixel problem I mentioned is just the limitations of the pixel per inch the game uses.
I've never been able to maintain that level of clarity around items like the gas caps and other small bits. Game settings are on excellent, and I bright finish my skins. Just not able to have such sharp sdges as are shown in your third pic. Most likely an anti-aliasing setting or such.

I had started my own version of this a while back, but I haven't worked on it in a long time. I might see about restarting it if Darren continues to be MIA.

ATM its just a 'lets see if I can do it' thing but its working out ok

the heat trail goes all the way back to the tail fading out but still visable.

What happened to FBS? I see his name has a bit of...something or other...attached to it at some Il2 sites. I never saw him be anything less than civil (I was around under other names here and there, since '02). Very talented skinner, I'd put him up there with Canon_UK, who is about the best there is. Somehow both Joe and FBS manage to impart a depth of feel...a 'weight' to their skins that I fall short of consistently

The polished P-51 of FBS is just stunning...how I would like to put that layer under a painted layer and pick apart some pixels for chipping!

Phas3e, please upload that template or skin for those of us that skin but don't invest time into templates!

FBS is very good skinner.

But my favorite is Jesters-Ink.

Cheers guys, I wasnt planning on making this massively public, VH_Rock is also doing one at AAA and I make this out of inspiration of that.

The skin itself is about 7-8 different photos of Modern Mustangs and an amount of 'smoothing' layers to make it match, it honestly has only taken me about 4 hours so far with only a little bit left to do.

FBS is/was a wizz with lighting and shadow and could/can make normally flat layers pop.
He had a quick temperament though which led him to to have all his work deleted from multiple sites on multiple occasions which led to a premadonna label which has stuck for some time.
