After years of using Templates very kindly provided by Fly By Shooter (Cheers Mate) for making my "Griffon Hacked" Spitfires I've finally decided to make my own.
Granted I had to modify the templates I used but this time I decided to cause Myself some serious problems by making my own template 100% original (including internals) right down to the last rivet.

It's going to take me a long time no doubt since I have only ever made a template once before with a Ki-84 Sea Fury I made so updates on this one will be scarce I would imagine.

Anyway, here's about 1.5 hours work so far.

Yup, harder to skin than the MK.VIII but better performance so worth the effort. It will also fit the MK.IXc so the Clipped wing option will be available.

Yes, you will.

It looks better than my new B-17 template did after 1.5 hours, that's for sure!

Now it may or may not look like a whole lot of progress but this update is about another 10 (at least) hours worth of work!

(Note mostly due to trying to sort out warping issues and making parts I have never seen skinned before so again trying to find/sort them).

All internals now complete, making a start on the bolts.

I sent you some misns and the rest of the skins in my 47 cmpn. You should get some good use for the two spits you sent me. I can't wait to finnish this thing so i can post some screens of your skins in use.

Anyways, got a little update (actually in terms of time spent, a BIG update)

Story so far:

Panel lines complete (may tone them down a bit later)
Internals complete
Bolts Complete (may tone them down a bit later)
Rivets - W.I.P.

Definitely the Spit master. Been working on a couple more misns to squeeze into the 47 cmpn. Hope to be done wiht it soon, and intend on posting some screens from it soon with your skins in several of course.

Progress is going a bit faster now that the rivets are complete

Crackin work mate.

I think (my opinion only) that you need to reduce the panel lines and rivets down so they are barely visible, leaving only the wing root 'big rivets' and fasteners bolder.
Also leaving the engine panels darker.

Yeah Kris, I have toned them down a lot since those images anyway but thanks for the input Mate, I just left them so dark since I didn't have much in the way of weathering etc. at that point.

It's pretty much complete now so I'll post some images with a generic skin on it soon.
