For some strange reason I grabbed it to see just what it looked like for those that feel the need
Its red with white engine cowlings and rudders. Owl please use the tutorial links you 'borrowed' for your sig and you might at some point produce a skin that someone might want to use. |

Hm, it needs more work, Owl - I'm uploading screenshots for you now.
Here goes: It definitely needs more work, especially around the tailfins. I'm not sure what a Republic Cruiser should look like anyway. To be honest, Owl, I doubt if anybody will want to use this, or most of your non-historical skins, unless you put a lot more work into doing something really special. As other people have said, you should spend more time learning to do the details of each skin, rather than just rushing lots of different skins out. It takes time and patience, and some artistic skill to produce a good skin that others will use. Of course if you just want to make them for yourself, or for a special mission say then go ahead, but otherwise if you post lots of skins people will probably just ignore them. There were B-24s that actually flew with some weird colour schemes, if I remember rightly. They would repaint worn-out ones in bright colours and use them as the lead aircraft for forming up formations for bombing raids on Germany - once the formation was ready, they would break off and land - you wouldn't want to be over Germany looking like that. If you can find some colour photos of one of these, that would be a skin worth putting some effort into... |

Here's a black & white photo of the sort of thing I mean, Owl, from Wikipedia:
You'd need colour photos to do this properly of course. When you do something like this, you should let people know what you are using for your sources, and of course also indicate on an unused part of the skin who's templates etc you are using, so it doesn't look like you are trying to take credit for other peoples work - in fact you shouldn't really post skins based on other peoples work at all, unless they say you can, though using the void skins from IL-2 should be fine: that is what they are for. Like I said earlier, it takes a lot of work to produce a good skin: A single pixel the wrong colour can sometimes spoil one, and there are 1048576 of them! |

*Smash!!!* That is the worst skin I ever made! I didn't even get to fly it. So I did it blindley. Luckly for me, I made a Tie Fighter while I was waiting for replies. Its waiting to be aprroved. Being British is about driving in a German car to an Irish pub for a Belgian beer, then grabbing an Indian curry or a Turkish kebab on the way home, to sit on Swedish furniture and watch American shows on a Japanese TV. |

owl. im not really a skinner myself but i like hanging around here watching the beautiful skins you can find around here.
i suggest that you take your skins for a spin to see how they look on the plane itself. put alot more effort into it and make something that will have people go: " WOW! Nice skin!! " |

If you like making fictional skins so much you should invest time studying pictures of the vehicles in question, pay attention to details, find a creative and/or humorous way to display it on an aircraft in the game. For example look at Nightshifter's star wars skins and how he has used parts from the craft in the film.
Being red and white evidently isn't the chief feature of the republic cruiser for example, surely there are more details you can add. |
