I'd suggest you visit the SimmersPainShop Aitcraft Profile Painting forum for the best opinions assistance and pointers. There's some really good profilers there, like Jesters-Ink, Supah, GrubbyFingers, etc. Mark Styling has even dropped by a couple of times.
In any case, I'd say the Spits are better, but you still need to get rid of the outlines. Use shading and highlighting to form your shapes instead. The panel lines, rivets, screws, etc. are way too strong also.
