I havent played this since ...2004 so i have the following questions that search hasn't been able to solve so far for me

1. 7800 GTX here / 84.56 forceware

2. nvidia users, have you managed to enable HDR +AA in Farcry OR not ? (i am confused)

3. IF HDR + AA works in farcry for some nvidia users, what are the exact steps to achieve that?

3a. NOT use the official 1.4 but the guru3d "beta 1.4 patch" files or it doesnt matter as long as its 1.4 files?

3b. Follow the EXACT steps instructions given for the ATI users attached to that "beta 1.4 patch" files?

3c. Is it maybe a combination of forceware drivers (nvidia control panel) forced AA + disabled FSAA in the game settings or ?

4. How can i see a report of the actual settings of a game session, like what shader model is being used, hdr level etc?

Hi Squid, bad news I'm afraid.

You cant have HDR and AA enable on a 7800, the HW doesnt support it. I think its only 8800s upwards, though I might be wrong about the cut in model.

For the last question, you can turn on/off the display info on the HUD as follows:

1. Open console (top left keyboard key)

2. Type the following without the quotes:
"\r_displayinfo 1"

3. Press return

To turn it off, do the same except type:
"\r_displayinfo 0"

Yes you can by replacing 3 BIK movie files with 0 byte replica's created with the likes of Notepad.

Using Notepad create 3 empty text files named:

Crytek.bik
Ubi.bik
sandbox.bik

Note:
You need to ensure that notepad doesnt save them as "Crytek.bik.txt", "Ubi.bik.txt" and "sandbox.bik.txt".

Copy these 0 byte files to your LANGUAGES > MOVIES > ENGLISH folder within your farcry installation.

You will be asked if you want to OVERWRITE the existing files - choose YES.

Next time you load the game you wont see them
