I've been playing a bunch of FC multiplayer lately but for some reason I constantly see other players jump way higher and farther than I can. I usually play games with Punkbuster so I don't think its a mod. I've gone up to boulders that teamates have virtually flown up on, but I run & jump like my boots are made of lead. I wait until I have full stamina but it makes no difference whatsoever. Pressing Sprint & Jump doesn't help either and instantly drains my stamina.
Any thoughts? I like to snipe and I can't get to half of the best spots. What's the deal??? |

well..
If you are grunt (heavy / gunner) then you are much slower and heavier. But if you are engineer, you are much more faster and lighter. About the jumping distance.. You have something called curve.. Jump in S forms.. When you curve u gotta use keyboard and mouse at the same time.. when u take a right turn, press D on ur keyboard and move your mouse to the right, and opposite.. A good place to practise this kinda jump is on airstrip. from hangar to plane Regards ZopRanO hope this helped u out |

Also, if you carry a heavy gun you will be slower. use your knife to run the fastest.

There is also a technique to climbing some rocks that look like they can't be climbed. It's all about the angles, and speed of movement.
If you ever see someone climb a rock and you can't fathom how they did it, try asking them to show you. Most people in FC MP are friendly, or just like showing off so will probably show you how its done. |

Yeah, IceT-Bag, I think you might be right in that it involves some kinda of special, perhaps closely guarded technique. Because I know the weapon one carries effects speed, but when I'm a sniper carrying nothing but a machete, I still can't make the jumps.
Last night while playing the freighter map, I followed a fellow offensive teammate up the hill to the right of the offensive team's spawn bunker, to a point where you climb up a simple sloped rock, then jump over to an adjacent rock on the left, which opens up a whole new terrain for elevated sniping positions. I watched as my teammate effortlessly made the jump to the other rock-- and he even waited for me there-- only to see my sniper (with full stamina) take a runnig start and clumsily fall well short of the mark... twice! He understandably got impatient and took off. A friend said I should uninstall and reinstall FC but I am concerned about losing all the maps and mods I've collected over the past 2 years. Is there a special technique/ keystroke or key combination out there that allows people to "Michael Jordon" up slopes, hillsides and rocks, or a special setting in the Options? Is reinstalling likely to help anything? Maybe I could meet someone in a map and I could show you what I'm talking about. All my characters jump like elephant seals. It's a joke. This problem is way past ridiculous... Ideas? |

I don't think there is any reason to reinstall FC, if you can sprint on ground and jump, thats all you need.
There are different means of getting around rocks: :: Walk up slopes :: Sprint up slopes :: Jump up slopes :: Sprint-Jump up slopes :: bendy "S" jumps Note that bendy "S" jumps are only good for jumping onto objects below your current height that are quite far away, they're no good for jumping onto objects above you. To be honest, most rocks can be climbed by just sprinting up the correct point. If you ever see any [22ndSAS] players on your MP travels, ask one of them if they will show you, we have some decent 'mountain goats' in our clan. Im not sure what FLAG on FREIGHTER your referring to, so not 100% sure which rock your trying to get onto. If you post a screenshot I can probably tell you how to get up there. Regards IceT |

Also, remember when you jump to hold SPRINT too
It may sound silly, but if u hold sprint while you jump you go a considerable amount further |
